This is a very old sacred temple of hindus that must be visited when you are in Mumbai. One gets amazed by the beauty of the statue of Goddess Mahalaxmi.

i travelled from the Siddhivinayak Temple to Mahalakshmi temple in a black & yellow cab.the fare was reasonable. You enter the temple premises and realise it is a shiva temple .But there is a path on the right hand side of the temple ,and you have to walk up the path to reach the Mahalakshmi temple. The management of the... More

Shree Mahalakshmi Temple is located at on Bhulabhai Desai Road. It is just 1 km from Mahalakshmi railway station in Mumbai. The idol of Mata Mahalakshmi is very beautiful. We feel at peace after the darshan.

The premises can be cleaner, there are lots street dogs and cats loitering around the temple premises. There is a small lookout over the Arabian sea, and... More

A nice place overall to visit when in Mumbai. If you go on a day with rush, then expect some waiting for there might be poojas or the darshan is stopped temporarily. If the day is hot consider carrying water. There is not much shade down where waiting has to happen.Once you reach the top then it is cool, the... More

Previously from this temple one could see the nice view of sea, haji ali etc. Now that is closed. But the temple is nice and clean. Visit on a friday can make you wait in queue for some time. But its managed.

Mahalaxmi what to say about this place, so beautiful. At the time Navartri so systematic thousand of people take Darshan without any hassle if they follow volunteer instruction. Many things about this place the location & food (Moong daal Bhajiya) both are amazing.
