The second most popular temple in Mumbai gets very crowded on special festival days. Located at the intersection of south and central Mumbai this is not very different from many other temples. There are lots of eateries in the temple premises.

While the temple is called Mahalakshmi Temple, you will find Mahalakshmi, Durga, and Saraswati here. You need to climb a few steep steps to get here, so I would not recommend it to anyone who finds it difficult to climb. After the darshan of the devis, I usually climb down the stairs at the back and spend time at the... More

The visit was good, not much rush. Should keep the stray dogs lying on the way. I felt eateries shouldn't be functioning very near to the temple. The presence of eateries spoils the temple atmosphere and attract dogs, wastes, etc.

Many will try to sell anything... More

We had visited Mahalakshmi Temple in the morning hours after visiting Shree Siddhi Vinayaka Temple. There was no rush. We had darshan with ease. There is separate queue for gents and for ladies. You can take your mobile, but, put it on silent mode. Do not take photograph when you are inside the temple complex.

Those who find it difficult to visit kolhapur for them this place is a blessing. This Mahalaxmi temple is very beautiful and big. Its crowded on weekend but the queue is fastmoving. After visiting this place one can also visit other prominent locations nearby.
