Eyes opening tour in Mumbai We were looking for local guide and some unique to see in Mumbai. As I have heard about the Asia's largest slum in Mumbai. This was our best date to meet Dinesh our guide for Mumbai Dream Tours. We found them online and it was very easy to book this tour. Guide and driver picked up from hotel. We did some sightseeing tour of Mumbai first and Dinesh our guide was very informative and knowledgeable. Then finally we had a walking tour in Mumbai slum know as dharavi. We got the right person to go with. Because Dinesh grown up in dharavi Slum and it's was amazing tour for us. It was a best combination tour we had in Mumbai. We highly recommend Mumbai Dream Tours and guide Dinesh if you are going to Mumbai!!

A private tour led by the owner (with a private car and driver) this was an EXCELLENT Tour. Behind the scenes, loads of information led by additional guide from within studio, fun very different-tape your own song with Bollywood sound engineer, learn cool facts of different sets, don bollywood costumes, enjoy live bollywood dancing set against a terrific original film discussing history of bollywood. This was absolutely a must do...really really enjoyed talking with young entrepreneur owner of tour company.

I went on a solo tour with tour guide Rakesh to visit the Dabbawala, Dharavi and Mumbai markets (2 consecutive tours, 3hrs each). I found Rakesh to be really knowledgeable, easy going and down to Earth. At each stage of the tour he took time to explain what was happening, where we were going next and also explained in detail the history behind the site in question. He offered me plenty of opportunities to ask questions and take photos and knew the locals and roads well. As a female solo traveller I never at any point felt unsafe or concerned during any part of the tour and found the locals kind and welcoming. I'd highly recommend this tour operator and in particular, Rakesh the tour guide. The booking process was very efficient and my enquiry was responded to swiftly. The only advice I would make is not to book 2 consecutive tours back to back as this can be very tiring in high heat - however this was my choice so no fault of the tour company at all. Wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen and hat! Best part of the tour, Dharavi slums for sure!

Dinest was fantastic. He really looked after me, he was knowledgeable, interesting and a great (really great) tour guide. Got to see and find out more about the Dabbawalas, the laundry at Dhobi Ghat and the Mumbai Slums (which are very different from the Kolkata slums - do both if you can). And the local train ride was a bonus as far as I was concerned.

I was previously uncomfortable about the ethics of doing a “slum” tour but was recommended Mumbai Dream Tours and I am very glad I did this tour. It gave a fascinating insight into functioning, booming, multicultural and exceedingly crowded industrial and residential Dharavi and its people, that I could not have gained just from reading or TV. Our guide, Mahesh, was exceptionally friendly and articulate, and welcomed questions throughout. He anticipated and challenged our preconceptions (the tour group of five contained both foreigners and Indians) and explained the complex systems that might otherwise seem chaotic to outsiders. He was clearly proud to be from Dharavi and of its successful industries and strong community ties, without glossing over the challenges of living there and the long hours and difficult working-conditions for many. I came away with a much greater understanding and respect for (and excitement about!) Dharavi and its people.
