Last year ,around november i visited this zoo ,and i must say that it was a quite a good experince although i was not expecting it because being from north side i could hardly find something much more intresting in mysuru except this zoo.The fee was around 100 which was a quite decent price .they have huge variety of species of snakes, birds, and also bengal tiger, lions, zebra, hippos, lion, crocs, gorilla, and what not ..i would suggest everyone to visit the zoo once for sure if you are visiting mysuru ...and yes also try famous mysuru pak sweet near to the the zoo .

I think its second largest zoo in Asia and maintenance is really good i don't remember the entrance fee as it was hiked recently I guess its below 100 you can spend entire day. You should have stamina to walk entire zoo.

WHAT THEHEEBEE SAYS ABOUT MYSORE ZOO Mysore Zoo is one of the oldest and best zoos in India. Established by the erstwhile king of Mysore, it boasts of the rich heritage of those times. It is located very close to the Mysore Palace and reaching here is very convenient. Tickets costs are very nominal. You can visit by foot (takes around 4 to 5 hours) or you have the option of an electric car (takes around 1 hour) that stops near selected animal cages. I would suggest that you take a tour on foot and don's miss any part of the zoo. You can see animals, birds, reptiles, and aquatic species of a very vast variety here. The animals are kept in good condition and the zoo is kept very clean. The huge old trees provide much-needed shade. The authorities encourage the zoo to be a plastic-free zone. You don't need to carry water and food. There are enough RO water filter plants in the zoo. Carry a metal water bottle and fill purified RO water and help to keep the place plastic-free. There is a big food court inside the premises that provide good varieties of food also. There is a small souvenir shop from which tourists can purchase souvenirs. I had the 'wow' moments watching for the first time - Giraffe, Anaconda, and King Cobra. Having visited once, I am looking forward to a few more visits here and spend more time seeing some of the animals which we would see only in jungles. Signing Off Hiral Amodia (TheHeeBee)
