You can see the statue of Maharaja at the intersection of Victor Albert and Ashoka Road. Right near the Mysore Palace.
If you picture the stature well you will have Palace in the backdrop.
Lovely to take photo day time and even when its lit.

This statue stands in tribute to the Maharaja Chamarajendra Wadiyar X of Mysore. He is known for his patronage of science, music and arts, with many buildings and educational institution having been created during his 30 something year reign.

This statue stands under a pavilion in the middle of a busy roundabout where only the brave would even attempt to get close enough to get a close up look. The statue depicts the Maharaja in his royal regalia and with both his hands resting on a knife held on his belt.

It looks okay.

It is a statue. It is nice to see at night but otherwise doesn't seem special. The nearby palace is much more interesting.

One of the iconic landmarks of Mysore this is the statute of the Maharaja Chamrajendra Wodiyar of Mysore and placed at the intersection of Albert Victor Road and Ashoka Road close to the main palace. Originally designed by an Italian sculptor, when it was brought to Mysore, many thought that the face did not match that of the Maharaja. Then a well known Indian sculptor Ganpatrao Mhatre was appointed to fix the statue who replaced only the head portion and joined it with such perfection that it became difficult to even feel the joints. The statue was finally installed in 1920. The golden dome above the statue and the beautifully constructed brackets that support the pillars enhance the optics of the statue. Also a good photo shoot point especially during evenings when the lights illuminate this landmark.

Well kept statue in between a busy Mysore junction. Can be seen at day or night. Not particularly interesting for children but can be visited.

This is a very nice statue of Maharaja Chamarajendar Wodyear which is located centrally in Mysore forming a major traffic junction. The statue is very well lit at night and enhances the overall ambiance of the main part of the city.
