Tho not generally a fan of Ashram visits, we were very pleasantly surprised with this one. In addition to the temple and huge Hanuman statue, the bonsai garden is absolutely amazing with over 400 specimens. The Aviary was also interesting but the museum closes over the lunch period, so we missed it.

Was pleasantly surprised at the upkeeping of the gardens in this ashram. With pheasants and other domesticated birds and a vast garden, this is a place for nice stroll around and tranquility. Recommended for good family time!

The parrot park was a great experience, more so for the kids. The kids were super thrilled to be able to nearly hold the birds in their hands and feed them. A lovely getaway for the whole family

This is a must place to visit if you love birds. Its an ecstasy being there. I have been here for 5 times. No entry fee but staff are little bit rude. Overall this is a must visit place for families with kids and also for teens.

For those who have been to singapore and enjoyed the Jurong bird park they can give this a go by, but other wise the aviary attached to and part of the sacchidananda ashram located in nanjangud road is a great place to visit. I haven't seen any other place in India which houses this variety and spectrum of feathered friends,... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the Hanuman temple, the Bonsai garden and the Ashram itself. Everyone I spoke to was friendly. It's a bit confusing upon entering as you are pointed to the gardens and bird sanctuary even when asking for the Ashram (this happened with both visits I made). Be sure to see the book store - they have wonderful music... More

a hub of so many cultural activities. the serenity of Datta Peetham makes one believe he is in heaven. On the foothills of the glorious Chamundi Hill - Shakti Peetha. The bonsai garden is one of the best out of Japan and they currently have one of the largest bird aviaries and rehabilitation centres for parrots. they have a wide... More
