A must visit if you are in the vicinity of Coorg. The place is very calm compared to the hustle bustle just outside the compound. The restaurant in the compound seems to be set back in time where the food is served with chopsticks made of bamboo..

This is a wonderful place to visit. The endless detail on the buildings and in the paintings is incredible and the general opulence of the place is mind boggling. It is also so peaceful and inspiring.

I was surprised to find a monastery in Coorg. This place is like mini Tibet. Must go when you are visiting Coorg or adjoining places.

Second biggest Tibetan settlement in India after Dhrmasala( HP). Imposing Golden Temple structure with stunning interiors with young lamas rushing for prayers every now and then is a sight to watch. Serene and relaxing ambience make you rejuvenated.

We were literally tiered by the time we reached the Monastery. but the refreshment arrangements near monastery are good. We took some break, had lunch, revived and then entered the Monastery. I must say the place is full of positivity.

This is a beautifully planned and laid out Buddhist Monastery. Going at prayer time would be an added bonus since the deep chants of the Tibetan monks are a joy to the ears and very relaxing.

This was a memorable visit for me. We were lucky to land at the time when they started one of their worship ceremonies. The chanting by almost 100 monks in unison with the load traditional musical instruments was breath taking and transported me to another world.
