An excellent Temple atop the hill. Beautiful IDOL of Lord Gopalswamy. Religious, serene & scenic, weather par excellence are the key to natures wonder. One can view the entire surrounding Bandipur & other forest ranges below. The uphill trip was rough due to bad road, one can glimpse elephants feeding on the habitat if lucky. Carry some short eats as... More

When it mists (Hima) it also cover the Lord and hence the name Himavad Gopalaswamy. Perhaps, a little neglected, the temple is still a must... More

The place has a large elephant population and tourists are allowed only between 8:30AM - 4PM. A great view of nature awaits the tourists atop the mountain. If you are... More

This Temple is located around 80 Kms from Mysore, near a village called "Hangala" on Gundlupet - Bandipur (Mysore - Ooty) Road. This place is primarily a Hill Station wherein on the top of the Hill station, Lord Gopalakrishna... More

The drive to this beautiful place is an experience. From the main road into the forest checkpoint where the vehicle checked and allowed to go on further. A ticket with time set to come back from the top is issued. It is suggested not to stop in between and drive to the top. Top there is a parking lot, Temple... More

We friends visited the hill early morning, it was an awesome experience. Lovely for trekking. Tips: carry your own food and water there are no shops. Carry umbrella there is no shelter.
