A really great market for tourists to wander and admire the produce. As it is almost all fruit, vegetables and flowers (with the odd perfume stall) you are not hassled to buy! The vendors are friendly and don’t have a problem with photography. Only asked for money by the Hijra and then only 10 rupees.
Well worth visiting!

This is an excellent market full of produce, flowers, spices, colors and smells. It is also a great place to buy essentials oils and incense, don't waste your money buying outside where you'll likely be paying commission. We bought 20ml bottles of oils for 300Rs each when outside they wanted 700-1000Rs.
I highly recommend Khan and Suhail's shop (No. 213) to buy oils. They were great and their prices and products excellent.

Once you arrive in Mysuru for Holiday Trip must visit Devraja Market :
1.) Top priority if Guru Sweets and try Mysuru Pak made from Pure Ghee, taste is just outstanding. You can also take it at home as it stays fresh for 10-12 days.
2.) Badsha Silk Saree at KR circle. Our experience is The Auto walas and Taxi walas will take you to govt silk saree shops but it is waste of time. Badsha Silk saree you will gt varity of options and good collection of dress material as per your budget.
3.) Just opposite Guru Sweets there is one chat shop. They serve very good pani puri and chat.
4.) Arasura Road just connected to KR circle you will find all shops branded and non banded cloths , foot ware, Bakery etc
5.) Near Railway yard there is sandel wood factory from where you can buy Intense stick however Sandel wood oil , face pack, intense sticks are better to buy from Ooty. However you can buy Sheabutter lotion which is good in quality.

We loved it. Went early to see the wholesale market and really enjoyed it. We were not bothered much except by sellers of paints and dyes. Half an hour to an hour is enough.

Cleanliness of course is one thing that differentiates Devaraja Market from any other markets in India. Mysuru locals are very warm & friendly. Stroll around, if not to buy anything to see the plethora of items that are displayed.

Do you get Rangoli stencils in Devaraja market?
Ardhanareeshvara

I have not seen rangoli stencils specifically at Devaraja Market but given the range of items on display -do not miss the multicolored cones of powder - and given the popularity of the rangoli art in S.India I would be surprised not to find them there.

I need to buy silk sarees, which is the best places in mysoor and can I visit on Sunday coz I wanna drive all the way from Bangalore
Ardhanareeshvara
Pune, India912 contributions
Needless to say Karnataka is famous for its silk saris and the Internet is replete with names of shops and factory outlets many of whom have their own websites and are open on Sundays.
The differentiator is the variety of saris -
Kanjeevaram, Pochampalli and Banarasi -
with prices to match in the ascending order.
In final analysis Bengaluru has perhaps a greater choice of emporia for sari shopping and reasonable prices! Mysuru can be saved up as a tourist destination.
