Glance and marvel at the collection of photos and pictures that belong to the British Raj Era in Shimla at this museum. The Shimla heritage museum is housed in a 120 year old heritage building itself, formerly known as the US Club

It is a nice place to visit on the Mall road but the person who showed us around was very rude, spoke more about his life and how well traveled he was and looked down on people who could not speak or understand English! Shame he is running the shop

The Shimla Heritage Museum is absolutely unworthy of visit. Housed in one single room within a government office block complex, with pictorial display of few old Shimla picture frames. This spot should be taken off the Shimla Tourist visitors recommended itinerary.

Quite how this has had rave reviews is beyond me. Took me ages to find, after a long hot walk from town. Most of the people I asked directions had never heard of it. It's basically one room with very little in it . Very disappointing

Having walked down from the centre of Shimla in order to make the most of the peace and quiet, my friend and I decided to pop into the museum. We were asked for identification by the army guard at the entrance. Neither of us had our Passport on us, but fortunately I had my UK Driving Licence, which was acceptable, and on that basis the guard didn't worry about my friend.

We wandered around the greenhouse and garden, with its unusual plants, before heading into the museum building. There was a fair amount on display, and details were available in English, but in some parts of the building photography was not allowed, the coats of arm area for example was one part out of bounds for cameras.

My friend and I spent about an hour at the museum, The toilet facilities (one toilet for everyone) is something I would like to forget quickly as the experience was rather unpleasant. Everything else was ok and the people who worked there were pleasant.

One tiny room with a handful of photographs on the wall. Given the history which must attach to the club and its members it is sad that it has either been lost or stored.
There remains a board of club presidents with Gen Sir Douglas Haig named on it.
The outside of the building needs attention.
Sadly it is not worth the walk to get to it.

More a room than a museum at the former US club. Some photos and displays of old Shimla, not more than a 15 minute visit.

One can be proud of Indian Army and know more better their style. A place gives much more knowledge about our brigades and solders.
