We first reached The Ridge which is a wide-open street located in the heart of the Shimla. From here, all other places are connected. The vicinity looks great and with our National Flag flying high makes the ridge look glorious.

Well worth a visit. Pestrians only so no traffic to worry about. Plenty of shops. Were you have to haggle over the price. No doubt with a tourist surcharge. Lowere streets may be cheaper. Banks and cashpoint / ATM's plentiful No hassle from touts.

Advise needed: Travelling to Mt. Naejangsan (4 Replies)
Hello, I'm planning to visit Mt. Naejangsan for autumn foliage. I have few questions below: 1) Planning to arrive on somewhere btwn 29Oct - 1 Nov period. Do you think i'm able to capture the beauty of fall (understand some says, typically it doesnt "peak" till early to mid Nov). Coming from a warm country all year round...i'm not sure what to expect, if there is a huge difference to be there at its peak time or "nearing" peak time period. 2) I'll be staying in both Gwangju and...More

Hi, 1) The peak day of Autumn foliage is highly depended on the climate. so we can't estimate the exact peak day at present. but last year, the peak day was beginning of Nov. And "nearing' and coming peak time is much better than "over" peak day. 2) Mt. Naejangsan is located almost in the middle of the two cities, The direct bus for Mt. Naejangsan from either 2 cities is not many, in that case, go to Jeongeup first from either Gwangju or Jeonju. and then transfer to Mt. Naejangsan. ...More
Markha Valley trek and Stok Kanghri Climb (1 Replies)
Hi, we are looking at Markha Valley trek and Stok Kanghri climb for next year. While looking at some sites I noticed an option to get to the Stok Kanghri base camp from Nimaling via Chogdo - Shang Po - Gangpoche . I like the ieda of doing the Markha Valley trek before the climb. One of our guide/agency has suggested a itinerary that does the climb first, and then goes into Rumbak village via stoke la. Has anyone done the ridge walk to he base camp via Gngpoche? If you have how was...More
