It is not only a pleasant place to visit, what with scent and sight of thousands of wooden items and all, but it is a great market to come to for wooded goods.
Do inspect the quality before buying, as some items may be slightly damaged.
The only drawback is that it can get very crowded at times, which makes it difficult to reach the shopfronts.

A real shopping experience if you don't mind hustle and bustle. There's shops and stalls selling everything you could possibly need. And if you get hungry along the way, there's plenty of refreshments available. Even if you don't want to shop, you should still go for the experience; not to be missed.

I always love to visit the local marketplace especially at hill stations, as it's always a pleasure to see where the local community shops and you get t see small shops with the local specialities. Lakkar bazar is very close to the mall. It's not as crowded as mall road. Try the local food and delicacies. Enjoy the local culture.

Lakkar Bazaar is just a small street where there are shops you can buy stuff from - mostly made of wood as suggested by the name this place gets from. Its a good stroll in the evening chit chatting and picking up souvenirs for your friends and family.

We visited this place while in shimla during our visit to the Mall. Came Across some very interesting Souvenirs made of wood but make sure these are packed well else they have chances of breaking during the return journey as some of these are really delicate.

Located next to the main mall road in Shimla, as the name suggests, this place has plenty of roadside shacks selling wooden goods, gift items and decorations.
People can get things customized as well for their loved ones.

Lakkar Bazaar nearby mall road or after ridge. very interesting market to spend some time. But to buy things, I found Chota Shimla, lower bazar are best option. Ups and downs, walking around is tiring.

Its just 5 mts walk from The Church to wards left. Shopkeepers are nice. Woodden craft is good and can be purchased. Bot heavily priced. Reasonable and can be bargained . Has some good eateries and street vendors. Street food better priced than The Mall.

Can anybody explained to me how to reach this Bazaar from the ridge? Do I have to take the stairs? I saw in youtube that from lower bazar to lakkar bazar, they have to take the upwards stairs (so steep and so many steps). Im bringing my mom, any idea where to shop without tiring her out?

Ridge to Lakkar Bazar is an easy walk through plain road, no need to take stairs. But visiting Ridge itself needs some tiring up-wards walk, especially for Sr. Citizens. Place of shopping depends on what you want to shop. Mall may be a good option for shopping.
