An excellent large market, outdoor stalls, and shops. The market sells almost anything and everything you could ever need. The only issue is that it's so large, and you could spend the whole day wandering around and not being able to find any shop you may have been to before. However, if variety and choice you are looking for, this is the place to go

Was overwhelmed with the experience of the famous Lajpat Nagar night market . Although several members of our family were mostly busy with shopping , we , the males , were busy checking out all the food carts and street food variety .
For any ladies in this subcontinent, this is the place for bargaining and finding the right product for you. The money exchange store is conveniently located next to KFC , very friendly people.
The “ must have “ item is Ram Laddu , spicy potato balls dipped in a gram flour batter and deep fried , served with chutney . There are too many choices to snack on , fresh juice corner , bbq cheese , pani puri , chola bature, I could go on and on and on .
Definitely it’s worth visiting more than once , that’s what we did .

I came to buy a dining tab set which got delayed for so long, the rep who was there to assist me went to another buyer who was looking for bedsheet and didn’t return until later. The other customer didn’t even buy anything. Then I went up to clothes and organic section where I bought some stuff of which the customer rep was courteous but the billing counter was busy counting money to attend me so I decided to grab a bite at the cafe. Atleast the customer service guy was nice there .I still haven’t got the bill for the clothes n organic stuff as I am writing this review.I don’t think I want to buy the furniture now. Very disappointing.

I’d found out about this bazaar and had high hopes from all the information I’d gathered. I was very disappointed. I could not find a single thing that I had in mind, had seen online, or the stores I’d heard about. The bazaar was very confusing and we seemed to be circling again and again. They all had similar items and the kurti were not exciting. The shopkeepers were not too interested in having us inside and when they’d show us a few kurti and we left without buying any, they seemed to get upset. It’s an ok place if you’re in Delhi but we will try a different market if we’re ever back there. I’d go for markers in Jaipur if you’re visiting there.

A big market with big and small shops. Found more of traditional and ethnic wear items here. Did not find much scope for bargaining but found the prices to be reasonable. Enjoyed shopping here

I visit the Lajpat Nagar central market for the first time. I find it a little rush area. I might get stuck in the market if I do not have a PARK+ app with me for parking. But it is a great place to buy quality products at the best price. If you are looking for the same, it is a perfect place for you.

I've been to this place several times with my family, recently I was there on the last weekend, although this was not in the actual plan and we were to visit only National Science Centre in Delhi but as we were done well in time, my wife just initiated the thought of going there.
We visited the place and first of all had a wonderful lunch out there just across the road in front of the market ...cann't remember the name but it was just a street food counter and we enjoyed the vada pav and tawa pulav ( this was amazing ). Afterwards, we entered the market which was like vally of dreams for my wife, huge number of shops with ladies apparels and footwears and that too with a heavy scope of negotiations.
So, if you are a shopping freak you must visit this place in Delhi. And believe me you won't be left out hungry as there are so many street food options available.
The only concern is the parking, if you are lucky you will get it otherwise they do have street side parking also available, but I feel the best way is to reach over there is by using public conveyance in order to have a tension free experience. But just load your pockets if you are going with your wives :)

Central Market Lajpat Nagar can be easily reached through any means of local transport like bus, auto or Metro. It is one of the most popular shopping markets of Delhi. Mostly famous for Indian traditional wear like Salwar-kurta, churidar, Sarees, you can also get good western clothes.
Items that are a good buy here -
- Traditional Indian wear
- Jeans/t-shirts
- Hand bags
- Imitation jewelry
- Items for embroidery like sequins, laces, borders, etc.
- cosmetics

Are there any good places to buy artifacts and handicrafts? E.g Ganesha Statues, mantle pieces etc.?
Written August 15, 2017
back side of jama masjid are 50+ yrs old artifacts sellers, n if you want great bargain in brass then will be at sarojni nagar there are only 2 open roadside vendors you have to walk on outer lane of market but it's worth it.

Market is one on sunday..?? And is there specific day for street market??
Written September 9, 2016
Lajpat Nagar is a full fledged shopping centre which is open on all days except their weekly off on Mondays. However, its street market is not that great, but the stalls and small counter like shops in the lanes running through Central Market Lajpat Nagar selling costume jewellery and fashion accessories, are permanent structures. If looking for a street market for trendy exzport surplus clothes, suggest you try Sarojini Nagar Market and Janpath instead.
