When one is giving 5 stars for a review its given things that the food, stay, plan and overall journey was amazing. I won’t get into the details as one should experience it for understanding the feeling. (don’t want to kill the surprise) What more does GoMissing provide which makes it special? GENUINE & HONEST There is a lot of honesty and transparency between GoMissing and their clients which builds the relation and trust. (Example- When I first spoke to Saurabh Kapur, co-founder he suggested not to sign up for Manali - Leh and instead do the Ladakh cycling trip as he was unsure of my fitness level. We were 1 month away from the departure day when we had this conversation. Only after explaining him my ongoing training since a year and awareness towards the trip did he consider getting me onboard. Since that day there has been no looking back! RELIABLE A trip with GoMissing pushes you out of your comfort zone still making you feel secure and confident. It’s a feeling where being outside your comfort zone starts feeling comfortable. The day you come on board everything is taken care off, from personalised jerseys to your training & diet plan. Train well and rest everything is covered! BEING DIFFERENT IS GOOD Special GoMissing branded jerseys with your name and number makes you feel energised and excited. The halts on the route are different compared to other dealers and only once you’re out there cycling you realise why this itinerary makes so much sense. When all of this is seamlessly covered under one deal, you just have to be part of this trip and have an amazing time!

At outset I would like to apologize for the lengthy account of my experiences with Gomissing. However I felt it was important to get into the details in order to do justice to this review. I was a part of the August 2017 edition of the cycling expedition from Manali to Leh organised by gomissing adventures. This expedition covers approximately 560km and passes through 5 high altitude mountain passes. The route is breathtakingly beautiful and offers magnificent vistas on every day of the ride. However the ride itself is extremely tough owing to the brutal and seemingly unending climbs and the ratified high altitude atmosphere. The expedition also passes through extremely isolated areas with very limited or no access to facilities, like telephone connectivity and general stores, that city dwellers like me take for granted. This makes route planning and the support system offered by the organisers extremely critical for a successful expedition. The route was planned very well with a rest day thrown in on the 4th day of the expedition. The daily distance and elevation covered were tough but reasonably so and allowed most of the participants to complete the days ride. The campsites were also carefully selected to ensure that we had comfortable halts. While I am a soft city slicker without any experience of camping whatsoever, I thought that the camping facilities were top notch. The sleeping bags were of top quality and kept us warm even on the coldest night and the food kept us in good spirits throughout the expedition. Speaking of the food, I think it deserves a dedicated review of its own. Simply put, the food was outstanding. Given the extreme isolation of our campsites, I was mentally prepared to live on dal chawal for the entire duration of the expedition. But boy was I pleasantly surprised. The food ranged from chole bhathure, poori bhaji, rajma chawal to samosas, pakoras, momos, pasta, spaghetti and pizzas, thin crust none the less. Desserts ranged from gulab jamun and myriad kheers and fruit salads. Adding to this was the almost continuous supply of hot water, tea and ginger lemon tea. This was a source of great comfort in the cold desolate campsites and offered a superb opportunity for bonding over the dinner table. A special note has to be made about the the manner in which the organisers took care of team members who were either unwell or had special dietary requirements. In fact in many instances these "off the menu" items were so alluring that even the rest of us requested for them. Overall no effort was spared to ensure their well-being and comfort. This was very comforting for all of us as we knew that we were in good hands. Each day's ride was very well supported with the expedition team being flanked at the front and rear by the lead riders and support vehicles. The support vehicles were stocked with water, food and medicines which ensured that we could ride light. These support vehicles even had emergency oxygen cylinders to help with AMS if the situation arose. Riders had the option to stop riding and sit out in the support vehicles in case of exhaustion or Ill health. There was also a system of sweeping the riders post a certain time, usually 4:30 pm, to ensure that nobody rides in the dark. Overall for a expedition team of 7 cyclists there were 2 lead riders one of whom was also a bike mechanic, 2 support vehicles and their drivers, 4 kitchen staff and a camper van that carried all our tents and supplies. The entire support system was so efficient and well integrated with the expedition that we hardly noticed it at all. Overall I simply cannot recommend gomissing and it's CEO (chief experience officer) Saurabh Kapur, enough. They may appear be more expensive than many other operators in the market but for me it's either them or nobody. From my perspective Gomissing provided the most comprehensive Himalayan MTB expedition, and then some. I look forward to going on more expeditions with them in the future (Bhutan/Ladakh/Spiti etc). Kudos!!

GoMissing is a unique company that truly takes care of each and every one of its travelers. They really know their stuff. They pay attention to detail which makes each trip comfortable, informative and you come back knowing so much more about the location - and often, yourself. Best part is, there's always an amazing group of people who travel with you. With GoMissing I'm always assured that the trip will be safe and a lot of fun. Thanks Saurabh! Traveler tip: If you're eyeing a trip it's best to book early because they often have early bird discounts.

I was on the Manali Leh trip for July 2016. It is the worst experience I had – I made a wrong choice as I spoke with only their chosen feedback providers. a. Poor planning and execution – On day one, they did not provide adequate education which caused a cyclist to fall and injure himself. b. Very poor group composition – They had everyone in the same group from a novice to an expert. Which causes too many issues. They had a rider with no experience doing long rides sign up for an extreme climb. This rider eventually ended up just sitting in the support vehicle more than half the time. c. Their schedule is more aggressive than others and is bound to strain you. While we were at Baralachala, all other groups that started long with us were 50 kms behind. They were able to complete the trip comfortably whereas I was utterly strained. d. You get a sense of completing the Manali leh climb whereas the reality is – with their aggressive plan you end up spending most of the time in a support truck (Which of course is a broken sumo - the scariest part is when the sumo driver asked me not to charge my phone as their battery is weak and their sumo might not start) e. At one point in Baralachala, the trip leader left me alone with no support vehicle in sight. While the agreement was for everyone to stick together, this was surprisingly changed when we reached halfway mark. I was riding alone in the last 20 kms leg. I also did not have mechanic support when my brakes failed. Pathetic. f. When I was affected by AMS and wasn't feeling too good, they failed to provide a ride back to Manali. They got me a lift in spite of having two support vehicles. This is not worth the money you pay for the package. They cannot ensure your safety. g. I was promised that my bike would be delivered back to Hyderabad but their response here was poor. They held my bike for a month with no communication, there was no response to calls. When I messaged to check, they simply stated that they need payment to ship to Hyderabad or need me to send someone to their office in Delhi to collect my bike. This is the worst experience. (I remember when I had to make the trip payment, I did not hesitate for a moment) h. Worst experience is when they do not even deliver pictures of your accomplishments but their promises of a collage of riders, videos, snippets to show at work etc are all false. i. On day one, we were made to stay in a biker reststop (Yes Please) which is 600rs a day on the internet – This is not worth the money you pay #gomissing. Secondly, they promised twin sharing, but in this case, there was a double bed and they just adjusted two people in the same bed. My recommendation, stay away from this third class operator. They cannot deliver a good experience but charge extreme amounts. They are ready to be sued.

Hi Surya, Thanks for joining Manali-Leh Cycling Expedition and for your detailed feedback. We are truly apologetic that the expedition did not meet your expectations. Manali Leh Expedition is an ‘Extreme Expedition’ and in all our communications, Advertisements, interactions we make it clear that the key to completing this expedition is training and preparation. When riders sign up, they are given a detailed training plan to help them prepare themselves for this ride. Every little detail, from riders clothing to challenges of high altitude ride; from possible dangers to the precautions we take to stay on the right side of safety, is addressed in the days leading up to the ride. This is done to set RIGHT expectations from the ride and to reinforce the extreme level of preparedness required for this expedition. Our intent, during the ride is to motivate the cyclists of all levels of preparedness to complete the expedition. Since safety and well being of our riders is paramount to us, I personally lead expeditions like these. In the said expedition, 2 riders from the GoMissing team and a safety car were there during the ride to ensure that no rider is left alone. Here is our response to your detailed feedback * The feedback of our travellers is on various social media channels. Any feedback that they give is not influenced by us but is their personal opinion. Your direct interaction with travellers chosen by you wasn’t influenced by us in any way. *On each day of the trip, we have briefings to set expectations from the ride, importance of safety during cycling and so on. However, elements of nature are beyond our control and despite our best efforts and intentions, incidents happen. The cyclist who had a fall that day took a break and was back on the saddle very soon and completed the expedition. *In any group, there will be riders with varying cycling levels. Before a rider signs up, we have detailed interaction to detail the EXTREME difficulty of the ride. We had the same interaction with you and every other rider multiple times. *Manali-Leh expedition is an extreme level expedition and training is the key to completing the expedition successfully. The expedition has been running for several years and a number of participants have successfully completed this itinerary. *In extreme climatic conditions, vehicle batteries are known to freeze. Fuel and battery are extremely scarce and precious commodity in these areas. The support vehicle serves a particular purpose and we encourage the riders to use it for that alone. The Escort vehicle was fully functional at all times required during the expedition. For charging phones, camera batteries, we had advised the riders to use stops like Sarchu where there is power available at a campsite across the road. We had also requested the riders to keep battery banks for the duration of the ride as power supply is not available during the expedition. *The support vehicle drove to Bharatpur – the rest point with you. At all times during the ride, there was either a rider with you or the support vehicle was with you. Your brakes were fixed as soon as the issue was notified to the team – at Bharatpur. The entire group waited for you at Bharatpur and only after you decided not to ride further, did the riders move forward. Even so, the support vehicle was very much with you. *When you complained of AMS symptoms, we immediately took you to the hospital. Again in the morning, when you asked for oxygen we immediately administered oxygen to you and then took you to the hospital. Both times the doctor gave you a clean chit after checking your vitals. When you decided to return, we honored your request. We immediately arranged to drop you to Manali comfortably. *We tried reaching you over phone on multiple occasions but you were unable to speak because of your busy schedule. Be rest assured, that your bike is safe and you can have it picked up at any time you want. *Together we created gigbytes of memories. Collating, sorting, cleaning and converting them into share-worthy pieces is taking some time. Our apologies, but whatever is promised will be delivered very soon. We have already uploaded a number of pictures and albums on social media and more will be coming up. *We have on multiple occasions mentioned that a basic guest house accommodation is provided in Manali, while in Leh, a very comfortable accommodation is provided. After the rigors of the trip, we know our riders need that the most! Once again, we thank you for the detailed feedback and rest assured we will strive further to improve our services. Once again, I’m sorry, the expedition was not to your expectations. Regards, Saurabh Kapur
