This is an impressive boulevard of grand buildings that runs from Rashtrapati Bhavan to the National Stadium. We drove through it on our way between stops on a day tour of the city and highlights. It is very heavily guarded and I was surprised to see so many armed soldiers.

During Republic Day the National Celebrations are done. During rest of the time you can have a wonderful family picnic and enjoy lovely street food with a vast variety to choose from. You can have fun with boating also. Any outing here will always be great fun and enjoyable experience.

The Rajpath is roughly the area between the Rashtrapati Bhavan (the official residence of the President of India) and India gate. The area is popular, but largely devoid of buildings and there’s no shortage of police and soldiers for security reasons. Connecting the aforementioned landmarks is a long, long road also known as Kingsway when it served as the ceremonial path. While the area isn’t all that exciting, the landmarks here including India Gate are worth seeing.

Raj Path (it is a Hindi Language word) it means Raj = the ruler and Path = road the Road is between Rashtrapati Bhawav and Indian Gate.
On one end you will find India gate and on other end Rashtrapati Bhawan ( Rashtrapati = President and Bhawan = House) if you travel from India gate to Rashtrapati Bhavan than this straigh road is called RajPath and both sides of this road there are big lush green lawns with lots of mango and Jamun trees. Both sides of Raj Path road there is red sand carpeted which gives really a very scenic view to all this place and complementary look to each other between green lawns and red sand, it is must visit for everyone, Most of Delhites usually visit every weekend to spend a little time with there family in the open skyp at cool night weather, it is there picnic spot well withing the heart of central Delhi

Rajpath is one of the most important roads in india. It is the the place were Republic Day Parade is held each year on 26th Jan... Finally it ends at the gates of Rashtrapati Bhavan... At Vijay Chowk it crosses Sansad Marg, and the Parliament House of India can be seen to the right when coming from the India Gate... Most of the buildings surrounding Rajpath, were designed by Lutyens and Herbert Baker...

This is a long straight road from Rashtrapati Bhawan ( President of India's official residence) to India Gate, in New Delhi.

This road has been made famous for the awesome Republic Day Parade, that is held on it, on 26th January, every year. The road is wide with beautifully manicured gardens on either side with wide footpath.

A trip to Delhi must always include Rashtrapati Bhawan as well as India Gate, thus one must also include the road connecting the two. Wonderfully maintained

I've been to New Delhi many times, but didn't get time to hang around for sight-seeing. This time, my family was there and we hired a car from Connaught Place, where we were staying, and did lots of sight-seeing. Rajpath was one of them, and we liked it. Its maintained well by the authorities.

When you hear a word Rajpath you imagine of seat of power and authority. You dream of king cavalcade going on the road with all pomp and show. and that is what it is. You stand on Riasina hill and look down and feel the power surging in to your head. with south block and North block on left and right and Rashtrapati bhavan behind you and India gate in front of you . Great feeling . It is one of the best road in the entire country. It has different soul and body in each season and the time of the day. In summers one can find children bathing in the water body and in the winter the visitors and staff of the govt offices basking in the winter sun. Eating their lunch or peanuts, some time some political scene will there with few people.
The place has some kind of great ness in it.
It is worth while to watch the republic day parade on 26 the January. The place is full of various army contingents etc and public to enjoy the display the strength of our country.
If you are staying close by take a walk around in the morning it is so quite and chilly in the winters morning.

As the name states, Royal Walk. About 2.5 kms of straight road leading to & from the seat of government.
Worth walking once , not least because there is far less traffic to contend with than in most of Delhi. Admire the work of Luteyens, linger on the ( fairly ) clean grass verges under shady trees. Not far away on one side, a filthy water channel runs parallel with people's washing hanging on lines & children playing on the narrow bridges that cross the channel- a stark contrast to the beds of cannas & fine buidings.
Crowds gather around India Gate.
My guess is that the whole strip looks more attractive when lit up at night or on Republic Day.
