Our group had a lovely time with Jyoti. We enjoyed visiting the spice market and learned a ton about Indian cooking and food. Jyoti has a great passion for food, travelling and cooking and was very accommodating. We all agreed that the food we cooked with her was some of the best we had while in India. Highly recommend this class!

I absolutely loved Jyoti. Her knowledge and passion for Indian cuisine made for the perfect evening in Delhi. She had cars to pick us up and show us around. We started in a local market where she gave us a tour. We saw local street food being made, fresh produce, freshly ground spices, etc. After the market tour, we drove to Jyoti's home. I was traveling with friends and there were 8 of us total in her cooking class. She had us in her home for a nice, intimate night of cooking! She explained as she cooked and allowed us to assist her when appropriate. She provided us with tips and a packet of recipes and spices to take home with us. Without a doubt, I would recommend you book with Jyoti! Overall wonderful experience.

Whilst on our annual trip to Goa we decided to stop off in Delhi and have a cooking class & Street food tour with Jyoti of Gourmet Desire. We had regular contact with Jyoti throughout the year on the lead up to our trip and always got a reply within an hour or so.on arrival in Delhi the situation regarding the civil protest had taken a turn(not for the good) with this in mind Jyoti swapped things around to ensure we got the most out of our stay and more importantly our safety. We kicked off with a tour of the local market and then went to Jyoti’s beautiful home and got busy cooking. Not being a vegetable eater was not a fan of alloo Gobi but the way this was cooked certainly changed my view of cauliflower. The knowledge that Jyoti shares is knowledge passed down from the generation’s of her family and this makes the whole experience more satisfying the food we cooked was amazing and to just sit and eat makes it all worth while. On the second day we went off to sample local street food and again an amazing experience. Cannot recommend Gourmet desire highly enough just book on the website and experience something you’ll not forget

We like to take a cooking class at a local's house when traveling and this one was the best! Jyoti was welcoming and very knowledgeable. All the prep work had been done so we just had to watch her cook and help a little. We learned about the techniques and she shared little tricks, and ended with a delicious meal. We left with recipes and a little bag of the spices so that we can try to replicate the dishes at home. I highly recommend Gourmet Desire. Check out the website as Jyoti offers more than cooking lessons such as tours of the spice market, shopping.

I was on my own with a spare day. Jyoti filled it with a combination of home cookery lesson (which we then ate for a late lunch), market trip (general market with spices and food) and a trip to Dilli Haat (the excellent crafts and fabric market) where her knowledge was very useful in knowing where to look. We finished off with some street food which was tasty and delicious. I ended up completely stuffed and with some fine shopping (including a small pressure cooker!). Jyoti was a little stern and businesslike at first but soon relaxed and I think we had a great time. She is a really fine lady, her knowledge of New Delhi is encyclopaedic and her spoken English is excellent. All in all, highly recommended. Please note that you probably have to pay for a car for the trip out from her house - for me, for over 8 hours, this came to an additional 750 rupees. Although my day was not cheap (9950 IR) for 8 hours plus, I think it was excellent value for money. I had the undivided attention of a local expert, I felt entirely safe and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
