Its a very beautiful place to visit . Feeling very proud by visiting and moving on that place. The memorial complex also comprises graphic panels and stone murals. It also includes a central obelisk, an eternal flame and six bronze murals depicting famous battles fought by Indian Army, Air Force and Navy in a covered gallery (Veerta Chakra).

A beautifully built memorial but kept off-limits! We visited this place after sunset and there was not enough lighting along the walkway to get to the monument. The central region where the Amar Jawan flame is located is off-limits to the public. The guards on rotational duty didn't seem to care for the visitors and were super cold to any small talk. The wall is adorned with stories of the various wars and is very informative. Somehow though it seemed like it is built for visitors but is not at all visitor friendly.

Visited the memorial on 13th Feb 21 but to my disappointment the entry inside the memorial is not allowed yet. Though the info on net suggests, but its not yet opened for public.
We went through Khan market metro which is about 1.5Km by walk till the entrance.
Would give it a try next time but nevertheless we could have a good glimpse of the memorial at least from the ring road outside.

The newly erected War Memorial in the vicinity of India Gate was a long awaited project. It is a tribute to all the martyrs of the several wars which India sadly had to fight to protect itself from external aggression. Let the supreme sacrifices of the fallen heroes be remembered always and let there be no more wars.
Important infos:
1. There is no entry fees.
2. Parking can be done in the area opposite to India Gate near Maan singh Road.(Free Parking)
3. Visit India Gate first and then enter War Memorial, because the exit is on the totally opposite side.
4. Closing time for war memorial is 6:30 pm. However India Gate remains open till late night.
5. There is also a souvenir shop near the exit gate.

The National War Memorial is a memorial park honouring India’s fallen soldiers. At the centre of the park is an obelisk type structure topped with Ashoka’s lions. The obelisk is ringed by walls of honour arranged in a circular pattern, with the walls engraved with the names of the fallen soldiers. Plus one for honour those who fell in battle defending their country.

National war memorial inaugurated on 25th Feb 2019, is dedicated to all the brave soldiers who lost their lives for country. It is situated near India Gate, the nearest metro station is central secretariat on yellow line. This place offers so much and certainly fills us with the feeling of nationalism. I'm sure it's going to be one of the most visited place in Delhi in near future.

The place looks ill designed and ill maintained. The bureaucracy in Defence Ministry must have gobbled up all the budget allocated for this place. Thus the sad state of this place!
