We arrived in Delhi and had decided in advance to immerse ourselves in The city by using Authenticook to book a dinner at the home of Vinka. What can I say but our evening could not have been any better. The food and company were both excellent and it was like eating with friends and even though we were tired we came away from the evening feeling energised. Thank you to Vinka and all her family for making us feel so welcome in your home. I have no hesitation in recommending this dining experience. Do not expect five dining, but enjoy the home cooked soul food and the excellent chat.

Neelam and Amit, our hosts, really surpassed all our expectations. Their home was very easy to find and close to a rail station. Amit stayed on the phone with me to help us find his front door. Neelam had prepared such a spread of small snacks, all homemade and delicious, we ate too much and had to take a break before cooking the main! We met her sons, chatted about our travels, and talked about the city. We really felt like old friends catching up instead of strangers in someone's house. They are such a warm and welcoming family. Onto the food - Neelam can COOK! Although Amit did most the talking and translating, Neelam has that universal boss look of a proud mother feeding you dishes she's made thousands of times. Beware, there will be seconds. She's happy to slow down so we could take video notes too. We made Bedmi Puri, a lentil and flour puffed bread, and aloo. I never would have tried to make an Indian bread before but I'm confident I can make this again at home. Before we left she offered to help via chat if I had any problems with the recipe at home too.

Cooking with Vinka is an awesome way to learn how to cook traditional Punjabi food! She is such a welcoming and warm-hearted host! She explained every ingredient in detail to us and even helped us to buy the spices so we can cook the dishes at home. We were dining with the whole family and we had good conversations about Indian culture and food. Her home is very clean and she prepared everything with bottled water. Absolutely entertaining, educational, and enjoyable afternoon spent with Vinka and her family. And the food was so yummy! Everything was just great - definitely recommend to do the cooking class with her!

I had such an amazing time with Moushumi. She made me feel so welcomed and comfortable in her home. I loved talking with her and hearing about her life. I learned a lot about Bengali cuisine. The food she made were absolutely delicious. Moushumi took the time to explain everything to me, from the starter to dessert. I left on a full stomach with lots of good memories. Thank you Moushumi! I would love to come back again one day!

We arrived at Moushumi's home knowing very little of what to expect. Moushumi was an amazing host, taking time to answer any questions, share stories and weigh on us with her brilliant, authentic Indian food. We were also very grateful for the fact that she had taken into account the fact that we are vegetarians. The dishes she chose were some of the best I have ever had. I am likely to develop a true passion for Indian cuisine and much of this is due to this meal and the hosts' great hospitality. I can't end my review before mentioning Moushumi's very kind-hearted spirit, youthful personality, and eagerness to share her insight into the best ways to discover India and its food culture. I would absolutely recommend this to all foodies, and/or to those simply looking to spend a nice evening with a fascinating person.
