a green historical island among old Delhi hustles. having couple of historical ruins add further interest to this place. it has a ruined elephant stable, still working mosque and ruins from the period of 1857 revolt. it was damaged beyond recognition by imperial British forces since the freedom fighters offered stiff resistance and inflicted heavy casualitis among british..
the park is totally covered with maintained gardens and huge trees. offers much serenity and that too in the hustle bustle of old delhi

A lovely park located beside Maidens Hotel in north Delhi, Qudsia Park, with its spaciousness & greenery, is a great option for a morning walk.

Historic buildings in a green space

Qudsia Bagh is one of Delhi’s few extant Mughal-era gardens. It was laid out near Kashmiri Gate in the mid-18th century, under the aegis of Qudsia Begum, the chief consort of the Mughal Emperor Mohammad Shah. Qudsia Bagh, because of its location near Kashmiri Gate, came under heavy shelling during the Uprising of 1857, when a decisive battle was fought here between the British and the freedom fighters. The marks of cannonballs can still be seen on the three-domed mosque that lies at the end of the garden (the mosque has recently been fenced off on the garden side, so if you want to visit it, you have to walk out of the garden, onto the main road, and enter the mosque from the road).

Besides the mosque, though, there are two other historical buildings here: the gate of the garden (rather shabby, but with signs of beautiful carved red sandstone), and the baradari (originally an open-sided rectangular garden pavilion, later bricked up and converted into a closed chamber by the British, who also added a semi-circular staircase outside).

In addition, the garden has an outdoor gym and play area (both next to the baradari). There are quiet paths, lawns, lots of trees, flowering shrubs, a rose garden (beside the mosque) and birds aplenty. A quiet, serene place.

near qudasia ghat

well... if you go ahead of kashmiri gate bus terminal qudasia ghat and park are on the right. the ghat is where you can take a boat ride into the yamuna and the park is where kids can play. its also a good placefor a picnic in the sun but its quqite noisy with the main road traffic but its green is soothing to the eyes.

A Park between Ruins

This park was built by Qudasia Begum mistress who became wife of Mughal Empror Mohammad Shah. Part of this garden is converted into Inter State Bus Station . The park which is left is beautiful and worth spending some time .
