We visited Nitin in May last year. What can i say about Nitin but from the moment you meet him its like you've known him for a lifetime! his warm and friendly nature draws you in. The cooking was great he walked you through step by step of every dish and why its done the way it is. Would recommend Nitin's cooking class to anyone and everyone. Next time i visit Delhi again this is definitely on the top of my list to do!

Following earlier good reviews, also describing an eventual visit to the spive market in old delhi, we also decided to do our cooking class with nitin. And we are so glad we did! what a wonderful person. he showed us around old delhi and took us to a roof with an amazing view over the city. we had requested if we could make 2 dishes we especially liked in india, and they were so delicious. just realize that there is no room to cook yourself. however, nitin thorougly explained every step of the cooking process. nitin many many thanks! next time we visit again.

Good, friendly cooking course

Nitin is incredibly friendly and outgoing, and our group spent hours cooking, talking, and eating together. Nitin does most of the cooking, but is quite informative and provides recipes. The food was very good, as was the conversation and the company.

Great evening spent with Nitin
Jan 2018 • Couples
Nitin is very familiar, since the first moment we met him (he went to pick us up at our hotel) we felt already at home. We asked him to take us to the spice market before the class so we roamed altogether among the street vendors speaking about nearly everything, from spices to life. More than a cooking class, it felt like sharing the day with a friend and preparing a nice meal altogether. He was very attentive and flexible about his menu, we actually modified it to some of our personal wished and this posed no problem at all for Nitin. We liked his way, he was joyful and always smiling and this was really heartwarming. I think is a great experience to try out if you are not so stiff about really learning all of Indian cuisine and just that; instead, if you are more the relaxed kind who will enjoy eating in an Indian house with a really nice Indian guy and just sharing about everything, including of course indian cuisine, then Nitin is a great option and I highly recommend to give him the chance.

Nitin thank you friend, we are sorry we could not see you the last day (you can imagine how last days are I am sure). But surely we will meet again... no doubt.

Afternoon cooking class
Nov 2017 • Friends
A friend and I were visiting New Delhi for the first time and wanted to take a cooking class. We had limited time and reached out to Nitin because his class sounded unique and fun. We were not disappointed! He responded very quickly and was able to give us a private class with only a day or two notice. Nitin is an excellent cook, and he clearly knows his way around a kitchen. We started off making chai along with four types of pakoras and coriander dip. The main course was mughalai chicken qorma with bhindi. We would have made breads, too, but did not have enough time, so Nitin was kind enough to have on hand several kinds for us to try. The food was outstanding and our stomachs were SO happy!

The other reviews on here seemed to be spot on... when you take a class with Nitin, be prepared to meet one of Delhi's friendliest residents. We were blown away by his welcoming and outgoing personality... this guy is awesome! He shared many stories about his family and his life in India, and he asked us many questions about ourselves. We really did have a wonderful time, largely because Nitin is such a gracious and welcoming host. As other reviewers on here have stated, the class is taught in Nitin's home, so it is very cozy. The class is part demonstration and part active participation, so this is a great class to take if you want to see how cooking is done in an actual, live kitchen in Old Delhi. Nitin's brother stepped in at one point and cooked the bhindi because he is the BEST in the country at making that particular dish. Who were we to argue? :)

I would definitely recommend this class if you want to have a lively afternoon or evening learning how to make delicious food in an actual, working kitchen, getting to know on a personal level a kind man who happens to be a knowledgeable and talented cook. If you do not like close quarters or do not like lots of conversation, this probably won't be the class for you. Speaking for myself, this was easily one of the highlights of my first trip to Delhi, and I wouldn't hesitate to take another class with Nitin. Oh, and one more thing: the price is extremely reasonable, so that's an added plus. Thanks, Nitin!

Cooking Taste of India
Oct 2017 • Couples
Nitin's cooking classes was a wonderful night through Indian cooking. He accommodated our class on short notice and he met us at a nearby metro stop to collect us before class. We enjoyed having class in his family home for a more authentic local cooking experience! He is a very gracious and sociable host. He went above and beyond to make our class great. He even walked us to wait for our taxi at the end of class. We had great conversations over food and chai. We made vegetable pakora's, chai, shahi paneer, bhindi (okra) and all served with chapati's. The food was delicious and plentiful! He gives you all of the recipes so you can plan to make them at home. His class was affordable and very informative. We highly recommend taking his home style cooking class!

Very Personal Cooking Class
Oct 2017 • Couples
We spent our first night in India cooking with Nitin in his home. What a great way to start our trip--an up close encounter with a local and a taste of vegetarian Indian cooking.

You will enjoy this if:
You love cooking, are open to real and intimate conversation quickly after meeting someone, are ready for new experiences, and don't mind cooking in a non-western-looking environment.

You will not enjoy this if:
You prefer to keep personal conversation to a minimum, you need to be involved in every step (there simply isn't space so some parts of the class are more of a demonstration), or are on a tight schedule (things are likely to run over).

Highlight at the end of trip
Oct 2017 • Couples
We spent the last evening of our trip with Nitin and had a great, funny and very special cooking class with him. It was not only a cooking class but also an experience. We spent 5 hours with him while we cooked vegetable pakora with chutney and his special and tasty chicken qorma. Furthermore had the best masala chai on our trip here. After finishing cooking class he organized a rickshaw and accompanied us to airport train. All in all it was a great evening and we felt like home in Nitins house. I recommend Nitins cooking class to everyone who wants to gain an authentic insight into indian lifestyle and cooking culture. “Delhi is the heart of india - Old Delhi is the heart of Delhi - Nitin is the heart of Old Delhi” ;-) Best greetings from Germany, Leif and Louisa ♥
