I was returning to my hotel, but lost my way until Kumar saw me. He offered me tea, we chatted and then he took me to my hotel in his tut tut. He turned a stressful situation into fun. Thanks, Kumar!

My wife and I met Manoj Kumar on our first day in Delhi outside our hotel. He saw we were new and somewhat lost and he courteously accosted us and offered us a free one hour drive in his tuk-tuk through Delhi which we accepted. We later had dinner in a restaurant and on our way back to our hotel he stopped by his house and introduced us to his distinguished father (who had formerly been a junior member of the Nehru Cabinet). We met Manoj's wife and sons and daughters-in-law, and they all immediately accepted us as "family". For the next three weeks as we travelled all over India, Manoj kept in close contact with us, being concerned about our safety and welfare. We had a sumptuous dinner with his family at his impressive home when we returned to Delhi . from Kashmir. Since then, to this day I am his big brother and we maintain communication every week. (NOTE: this event occurred a couple years ago, and not Mar 2018 as stated below)
