Heritage step well

It’s a famous step well located near Connaught place. The water level is quite low and it seems to be almost dried up. Compared to step wells in Rajasthan or Gujarat, this one... read more

This is a very interesting historical place because of its uniqueness and utility. This is a baoli(water reserve) place of olden times made by King Ugrasen for the water requirement of the city. The whole design is very interesting with steep steps leading down to the well where the water was stored. The architecture of the baoli is typical of... More

It’s a famous step well located near Connaught place. The water level is quite low and it seems to be almost dried up. Compared to step wells in Rajasthan or Gujarat, this one seems to be pretty small but looks quite beautiful. The views are quite photogenic and several movies have also been shot over here. Its quite popular with... More

We visited this place with teenagers and loved to be there. If you can really nice up and down on the stairs then it would be good fun. Though the steps are really high still you feel good . A must visit place form the history when in Delhi.

Visited this attraction as part of a tour of Delhi. It is a very old well hidden among modern buildings. The steps are steep and high so we didn't attempt to walk down them to the well but the architecture makes for some interesting photographs.

We came here almost by chance - it was near enough to our hotel to pay a quick visit before leaving for the airport at midday. We were delighted that we had - it is an amazing and impressive structure, and very peaceful in the midst of hectic New Delhi. We chatted to some equally amazed young Delhians, who told... More

This place is a piece of history tucked into the heart of the city. This should be a must in anyone's itinerary who is visiting Delhi. The place has history embedded all over it. It is also an architectural marvel. It is an ancient water well used to conserve water. This place also attracts a lot of Bollywood movie buffs... More

First and foremost, it is sad that if not for the movie PK, no one will know about this wonderful location situated at the heart of Delhi. Our taxi driver didn’t nor did his colleagues. But, thanks or no thanks to the movie today it is a much visited monument with hordes of youngsters hanging out especially as couples. The... More

People normally go to Connaught Place for shopping and eating. Take a short side way and you will see one of the better Baoils in India (Step well). You don't have to go to Gujarat or other states, Here in the middle of Delhi you have it. Interesting architecture and history.Water has always been important and will be even more... More

If one tells you the location of this site, you cannot but be left in bewilderment. So is how this medieval water storage facility is located in the heart of the busy capital of India. But once there, there are no wonders to marvel over the foresight of the rulers who got this constructed for indeed this facility is designed... More
