This was a great day in Bocas! We booked a tour the night before by contacting the company using WhatsApp (during the busy season, its the best way to reach them since its a small company and they're out doing tours during the day). We got a response that evening with a list of all the tours they offered and booked one easily. We took the Tour to Zapatilla, and they said the would pick us up from the dock at our hotel at 9:30am the next morning. We were the last of the group to be picked up (about 8 guests and 3 people from the company including Sophie, the boat captain and another girl that was learning to give tours), and after a quick stop to let the Tourist office know who was on the tour, they took us across the water to an area known for having dolphins. We got to see quite a few, most from close up. Then we went to an island with mangroves were we got to see 2 sloths. Another boat ride and we stopped to place our lunch order at restaurant on an island and then we did some snorkeling while we waited for lunch to cook. After lunch, we took a longer boat ride across slightly choppier water to Zapatilla island which has gentle waves and beautiful sand to relax for a couple hours. On the boat ride back, we stopped to see some star fish in the shallow waters and a quick look that is the craziness of Filthy Fridays at one of the island bars. Thats what we did, but the way it felt was even more amazing. The islands are beautiful and green, the water is calm for the majority of the time you're on the boat, the cover of the boat and the breeze keeps you cool even when the boat comes to a stop, and Sophie provides a lot of information about the area and the wildlife and does her best to stay away from the crowds. The tour is 7+ hours, but the time went by so quickly since there was so much to see. They provide life jackets for everyone, and check up on everyone during the stops and when everyone is snorkeling. One thing to note, they don't do tours on Saturdays.

Sophie and all of her staff are lovely people with a great sense for the environment and community. Even though the weather was bad we had a wonderful day everyone in the group doing their best to keep the spirit high. If you're interested in ecotourism I highly recommend to book your tours with Kawi.

Went on a day trip with Sophie in November 2018, it was so much fun! Sophie was very knowledgeable and kind, we saw so many animals and flora and fauna. It was truly great, we went to amazing beaches, saw coral, snorkelled and had a nice lunch on a floating dock. Totally worth the money!

Everyone at Kawi Voyage made our boat tours extra special. Manases, the driver, picked us up at our apartment and chauffeured us around the mangroves and islands in the archipelagowhile Sofia told us about the wildlife and history of Bocas. They are incredibly accommodating and attentive to their client’s needs.
