I borrowed the hotel bicycle to get me around the park. This park with many green and the place was beautiful and also quiet. This was quite a relax place for me to tour around. And I also met many tourists and local ride the bicycle around the park. I would recommend all ages to ride in this park

This park invites you to walk or cycle (bikes can be rented at the main entrance) for hours. Lots of nice spots (e.g. for bird watching) benches to have a break etc. Good area to have a pleasant walk, if you're alone, as a couple or with your whole family.

The typhoon in July, 2016 ravaged the park, stripping most of its trees of branches and leaves, with the area full of debris on my visit in December, 2016. I'm sure it was beautiful, with its ponds in the estuaries, but the scar from the category-5 typhoon was painfully dominant.

This is an excellent city park - an oasis in the heart of cement and busy streets. It is not, however, an overly natural park. Lots of cement paths, man-made water bodies, open spaces...but it is still quite nice. I suggest going, just don't expect "a hike in thebwoods"; expect a relaxing and pretty getaway. Near the ocean, so you... More

most people come to Taitung as the gateway to other destinations like the Green or Orchid Islands or the scenic east coast area. The sleepy town itself has little and this forest park is one of the nicer things to do. It was a pleasant place to cycle around and fairly quiet on a weekday. A typhoon has damaged a... More

Unfortunately this city was just devastated by a typhoon . So the park was in disarray! The bike trail was comfortable and very enjoyable . But I couldn't help notice that the park was not very well kept, trees hasn't been cut and there was litter everywhere . It's a free park so it understandably that resources maybe tight and... More

As of mid October 16, some areas inaccessible and others have been trashed by the recent typhoon. Maybe not worth a visit at the moment, although if you do, rent a bike ($100 for 3 hours) and don't miss the far eastern bridge out of the park (on the map north east of Lake Pipa), just outside is a lovely... One of the best urban parks we had visited in Taiwan, if not the best. It's size is big enough to spend half a day, better by bycicle. There are three different lakes, one of them for aquatic sports. Even with the effects of the typhoon, destroying hundreds of trees and plants, this park is a great place to enjoy the... More

A lot has chanced since Taitung has been hit by few typhoons, many areas are now inaccessible with trees snapped in half. Before it used to be a beautiful park which resembles a mini version of the black forest in Germany, coupled with a lake it's quite a romantic place to go. Now most people come here to play Pokemon... More
