We are very lucky, we still able to meet the snow there. Whiles we reach the top, there is actually a lot of people there. You can drive or you may ask your hotel to help you book a van there. There is also a short trip for the sun raise, but you will need to wake up like 4am. My hotel offer... More

Beautiful views and rewarding hikes. There's a novelty coffee shop, 3158 Café, near some of the trailheads. We traveled with the help of a local guide by private van. It's definitely more relaxing and comfortable to have someone familiar with the roads and local rules in the driver's seat. It's also a good the way to go if you have... More

The winding road, the high altitudes, the 4c temperature, and the view is just amazing, with the Taroko Gorge waiting at the end!

My family went here with the tour guide at night. Although July is summer, but when at night, it still so cold, so you must prepare the thick clothess. The best thing is we can see the milky way.

Woke up at 3am just for the Star Gazing and Sunrise Tour at 400 NTD/pax. It is all worth it. We sat the van from our lodging at Cingjing (1700m) all the way to Hehuanshan (3250m). We stopped for Star Gazing at 4AM. SUPER NICE! Then we headed on to the peak for sunrise at 5AM. We were so lucky... More

Although I lived in Taiwan, I have never been to Hehuan Moutain before due to afraid of Acute Altitude sickness. I finally decided to make the trip this year after careful plan. I first stayed in Chingjing area for a night to get used to the altitude. In the next morning, I drove all the way the top of the... More

Traveled from Taichung to Hehuanshan in summer. By taxi which took about 1.5 hours in good traffic. Started the ground transfer to HHS at Guo Ming Bin Guan Zhong Xin that operates a public bus by Nantou Bus Company, a 24 seater van that took us to the HHS Visitor Centre. As it was summer and a weekend, there were... More

This is one of Taiwan's baiyues and I was glad to be able to visit this. It's the easiest of the baiyues to summit since you can drive up till the last several meters where you will have to walk up some steep stairs to the peak. It gets pretty cold due to the high altitude. Once you're at the... More

If the weather is good, go there for the sunrise. You won't be the only one, for sure, but it is very nice. Dress warmly. You can even go on a hike - the paths are easy, even my 6 year old son could do it.

During the trip from Cing Jing to the Taroko National Park, the driver showed us some places to view the scenery. Start from the entry to the National Park, up to the highest point in Taiwan. This part of the country is a 'must' for travellers. Also, for stargazers, there are some hotel in CingJing area that provides a good... More
