The building came from the times when Tartus belonged to the crusaders. It was converted to a mosque later on, and a tiny minaret was added to it. Today it holds a museum. Dark, not very interesting, and partly covered in pigeon droppings. One can...More

The old cathedral in Tartous has now been repurposed into the Tartous museum. It's well worth a visit for the building alone, as well as the exhibits on offer there.
