You cannot miss this Highway Museum Complex on way to Kandy by road from Colombo. It is an open air museum show casing different machines and vehicles used to build highways in Sri Lianka during British Period. Quite informative.

Nothing much to see...Some Old Locomotives if you have a interest in the subject, its fine. Its just along the Colombo Kandy Highway, so no pain to reach the place and you can finish in 5-10 Minutes..

Random old highway engines on the side of the road. A bit surreal but we did see an amazing kingfisher!

Just by chance we drove past this Museum and we were in for a lovely surprise. Our Lady Guide was very articulate in explaining about this museum. Worth a visit and do climb in these old trains and carriages

This place is not an eye catcher but OK for the interested. Never crowded or popular with tourists. Sort of looks like an abandoned place. Vintage road rollers/ rolller-compactors can be seen.

Interesting and free. The nice thing is this is on the way to other attractions and takes up about 3 minutes of your time. It is cool to see the old European machinery, but it is not something to go out of your way for

The highway museum is located in Peradeniya, and is the place where you can understand the way the hill road way was built
