I started my walk around the lake near the queen hotel, I stopped at garden cafe for nice local meal, very good and reasonably priced, try the freashly squeezed fruit juice. This place was crowded specially with takeaways but it's worth the wait, good food. Further you walk just hop into kandy city centre shopping complex. There are some good... More

Kandy lake is little more than a filthy fish pond in the middle of an otherwise very dull uninteresting crappy nothing City. In short, do your very best to avoid Wasting your precious time in Kandy. Pass through, yes, but otherwise stay well away.

Fairly clean lake with not much happening on it. Nice to walk around as it's very big. Boat hire available but appears to be a fairly limited run.

It's a good place to walk around or sit on the bank. Buddhas Tooth Temple side is pedestrian only area so you won't be bothered by heavy traffic.

Kandy Lake is a key point of interest in Kandy and is visited by many Sri Lankans enjoying a nice lunch by the lake. The lake is probably 3kms to walk around the whole area which is nice if you have a couple of hours to relax and stroll around keeping your eyes open for lots of different bird species,... More

This lake is right next to the tooth temple. A great place to come in the evening. You can experience the sights and sounds of many birds during sunset. Did not try out the boating option in the lake.

We enjoyed our time here. We walked around the lake and Sat down to enjoy the view. Beautiful lake. Spotted ducks and monitor lizards as well. Beside the lake is temple of tooth.

The lake is very pleasant and forms a wonderful centrepiece to the city. Lots of people enjoy strolling by the side of the lake so it has a vibrant atmosphere. However it can be pretty smelly under the trees where birds roost at night.

The lake is just located next to the Temple of the Tooth relic. You cannot miss it when you enter Kandy. The roads are narrow and finding a parking in the vicinity is a challenge! The lake attracts cranes and storks of different varieties and the place is well lit in the evening. It is good to see the lake... More
