We came by for the cultural show after visiting the Buddha tooth relic museum next door. It's a 1-hour show that displays the culture of Sri Lanka. I saw some performers who were energetic while a few seem rather unsure of their steps. Good to...More

We were in YMBA. The performance took 1h includes 10 dances. The dancers skills are rather poor or the show is not well prepared, for most time they dance out of sync. The positive is music played by drummers and dancers traditional clothes. The ticket...More

Traditional Kandyan dances include the cobra dance, mask dance and the Ginisila - dancing and waling on fire, the Kandyan Dance, percussion only and Geta Beraya, drum only, performers dance, sing and do acrobatics. Costume are impressive and colourful. Unfortunately, not all the dancers perform...More

This is a great way to see a cultural show with dancing and best of all fire breathing and dancing. It only takes an hour for the show so you get in an out quickly.

Not worth the price, it is basically made for tourists. 1000 LKR is too much for what you get. Safe the money for something better.

Nothing to miss if you don't see it... it could have been much better if some could explain the sequence of dance, and at the end the fire dance is not that exclusive..

From the first conch shell blast of traditional welcome the drums never stopped. Costumes were intricate and colourful, and different for each dance representing Pooja dance, cobra dance, peacock dance and others. The show finished with a fire stroking and eating demonstration followed by walking...More

Only do if you are bored and have nothing else to do. Costumes were very good but it's all down hill after that. I'm glad I didn't pay anymore than 1000 rupee.

The dances were quitte interesting to see. One downside was the atmosphere, in a low ceiling hotel room with bad air it is hard to completeky enjoy. Some of the dancers seemed to be annoyed or whatever, that spoiled the effort of the rest. Dancing...More

5pm. But at that time it is a scramble to get good seating - no reserved seating exists. Reach about 15 to 30 minutes early. The duration is about an hour including a Fire dance which is outside the performance hall.

You buy tickets at the entrance of the Red Cross Hall where the performances are held. I would buy tickets early to get good seats. From the Temple of the Tooth, you walk along the lake away from the downtown/shopping/ area... More
