After much research on TA and other sites we decided on Go Lanka after a personal recommendation and the service exceeded my expectations. We booked Ruwan as our driver/guide for an 18 day custom itinerary around Sri Lanka and we couldn't have been more happy with his professional and courteous service. Always punctual, safe driving, excellent knowledge as a guide and of course his sense of humor :) - it really made our trip a memorable experience. I would not hesitate to recommend him - A good tour guide can make all the difference to your experience. Thanks Ruwan, and I hope we meet again :)

This was my first time to go to Sri Lanka. Before departure, I was struggling between driving by myself or hiring a driver and tour guide. In the end, I chose the latter. I found Ruwan on the ToursByLocals website. I left several messages asking him about the itinerary and got quick replies from him. So more than a month before departure, I booked him as my guide for this trip.
During the eight-day and seven-night trip, I visited several important places, including Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Yala, etc. I particularly like the English-style small townhouse, manor and tea plantation scenery in Nuwara Eliya. Ruwan took great care of me during the trip, especially because he is proficient in driving skills on mountain roads and is willing to make arrangements and adjustments to the itinerary according to your preferences, which made the trip more to my liking. For example, I don't eat spicy food, so he would arrange for non-spicy restaurant recommendations. On the last day of the trip, I flew at night, and he also took me on a half-day tour of Colombo city during the day. It is worth mentioning that he speaks very good English and is easy to communicate with. He is also funny and can share details about himself and life in Sri Lanka. I highly recommend this considerate tour guide! 👍

Ruwan was an incredible driver and tour guide during a week long trip to Sri Lanka. He was so helpful with recommendations but always flexible and not overbearing. He let us move at our own pace, and we set our own itinerary based on what we wanted to do. Could not recommend him more!

I decided on the last moment to spent some time at Sri Lanka and would like to thank you colleagues in Czech, Michaela Hanusova, to arrange everything for me and providing full support and also, mainly in the end as he spent with me the most time, to my guide and drive, Mr. Anura Kumara. Kumara was not only good driver but also a very patient and carrying guide who had tried to show me the best from his country what was possible to see during eight days stay - impressive nature, I love highlands, kind and welcoming people, great food and history of this multinational, multicultural beautiful island. Thank you so much, Kumara, for this experience and I wish you and whole your family the best!

We spend 10 days with Dammika as our guide and driver. It was a great experience. He showed us many things, touristic places but also lot of places that are only known by local people including great places to try local gastronomy. He was also very professional, knowledgeable about Sri Lankan history and culture. On top very friendly, reliable and safe driver. Our children liked him a lot and keep speaking about the great experience with Dammika also upon return home.

To enjoy a good trip into a foreign country I think it is almost inevitable to have an excellent local guide, who is able to make your stay in the country more enjoyable and comfortable. In our case, Ruan was this person.
Upon our arrival, he warmly welcomed us with nice words and gifts and helped us on our journey since day 1.
Ruan created a nice atmosphere and feeling not just during our visits of historical sites (about which he talked with a great passion and enthusiasm, which made it very nice to listen to), but during our long journeys in the minibus.
He always tried to make our journey more comfortable, wether it was stopping for some fruits, or spicy cakes.
We will never forget the jokes, which made our difficult trips to ease up a bit.
We formed a special bond with Ruan that we will never forget and we are already missing him from our side.

we want to say thank you for an amazing 8 day holiday in Sri Lanka. Thanks to our guide Dammik, we got to know the sights we chose, as well as the ordinary life of Sri Lanka. We are Aussies and have just returned from our second tour with Ruwan of Go Tours Lanka. The first tour was in 2016. We could not be happier with Ruwan.
Given that there have been 82/82 excellent TripAdvisor reviews under one title and 72/72 under another title, are an indication of the excellence of Go Tours Lanka.
At the risk of repeating other reviewer’s comments and my previous comments:
Ruwan is always well presented, speaks excellent English and has a wicked sense of humour complimentary to our Aussie humour. Although there was only my wife and myself we arranged to travel in the big van for added comfort. The van was kept clean and Ruwan drives very safely – he is always on time. Although we started with an itinerary, Ruwan offered excellent adjustments and showed a great knowledge of all parts of our tour.
Once again we had a remarkable and most enjoyable time with Ruwan. He is a joy to be with, his big smile, great sense of humour, his porky pies (Aussies will understand) and his embellishment of stories by adding details to a story to make it more interesting. Every day was joy with heaps of laughter.
As others have said Ruwan begins a tour as a guide but soon becomes a friend. We were lucky because we were already friends from our first tour and are now better friends. On this tour we were privileged to meet his lovely family. Ruwan is a true asset to Sri Lankan tourism! We may not necessarily return to Sri Lanka however Ruwan will always have a special spot in our hearts.
We could not recommend Ruwan and Go Tours Lanka more highly.

We had a great tour for our group of 12 travellers. We were on a cruise ship and went to see Galle fort with Ruwan. A wonderful day with an excellent guide. We highly recommend the services of this tour guide.

My wife and I organised an 8 day tour of Sri Lanka with Go Tours via email. Very easy and very adaptable to what we fancied doing.
Our driver was Prasad, who was fantastic. Very safe driver, very informative of local sites, and an extremely competent guide who we got on really well with.
Had a fantastic trip around Sri Lanka, especially loved the tea country and Mirissa.
Will definitely return to here, and will definitely look to use both Go Tours and Prasad again.
He even took Sri Lanka getting beat at the cricket by England with good grace 😉🏏
