Hikkaduwa is very small town on the way from Galle to Bentota. This beach is one of the tourist attraction on the south coast of Sri Lanka. This is famous for Turtle, crab etc. Coral sanctury is located about 5 kilometers from the beach.
Nice place watch out for the sea turtles. If something hits you most likely it's a turtle. Try not to kick or stomp on them then they would most likely end up at the turtle faculties And sit in a tank and slowly die in...More
Anyone, and especially young couples and young families, visiting or holidaying in Sri Lanka, (especially for snorkelling purposes) please be aware of the dangerous currents and swirling waters off the untidy beaches and dangerous coral areas at Hikkadua, (that are seemingly highly overrated in some...More
Nice sandy beach when the tide is out. There's a section of beach nearby that has coral and fish and moray eels. Great for snorkeling. This section is protected by rocks which almost creates a swimming pool scenario.

If you watch carefully you will see turtles surfing in the waves, very close to the shore. There are a few turtles called Monica and Rosie, plus a few of their friends, that come right up to the shore edge, and you can feed them sea grass!! This happens right in front of the Hikkaduwa Tranz Hotel. Any of the local hotels and restaurants will tell you the best viewing place.
