About
The Premier hot air balloon operator in Sri Lanka with experience dating back to 2003 when commercial ballooning started. We are The Ballooning Family of Sri Lanka with UK certified commercial Pilots. Our Chief Pilot Justin Moore has over 5487 commercial hours. Our pilots are hand picked for the absolute safety of our passengers. All Pilots are legally validated to fly by SL Civil Aviation Authority. All ground handling crew are fluent in English to serve our passengers and give them a unique and memorable flight. Our rates are US$ 250/- per adult and US$ 210/- per child as we do not compromise safety and our standards are high delivering what we promise. Community Responsibility is one of which we do in the area we fly "sharing and caring for the next generation" is one we believe in. Sun Rise Ballooning is also known as SRI Lanka Ballooning.

Amazing, stunning and can't wait to do it again!

Took my second hot air balloon flight with Justine and Mareena yesterday, and as expected it was amazing.
Justine is a Professional Pilot who has many years of experience, my first flight with them was six years ago, but I won't leave it that long to book another flight.
Mareena is a lovely kind lady who manages bookings. When the ballon takes off you are hardly aware its lifting off the ground, then theres the early morning mist over the ground which lifts in a short time, wildlife, paddy fields, nature, stunning views for miles.....it's so so worth it. Hopefully I can book again before the end of the season.

A smooth flight and a professional landing.

This was my first flight, it was so amazing that I cannot put my feelings into words.
The experience was far from what I expected, the view was amazing and we had a long flight. Our pilot Justin & the crew were so professional that the landing and the take off was very smooth. Table with a glass of bubbles and juice was welcoming along with a chit chat with the other passengers. A great way to start the day. Highly recommended!

Wonderful experience. Loved it. Booking was through simple phone call and confirming the date. Ms Marlene was great and of course the pilot and rest of the crew. Getting a birds eye view over multiple lakes, trees, temple and above all the Sunrise. Must do activity

The booking was so easy. It was just a call to Mrs. Mareena she made it all even at last hour request. My preference date given too. You feel completely safe when Mr. Moore is the pilot. He is friendly, accurate and professional too. We could not even feel the take off and landing. The crew members are amazing and always at service with a smile. The surprise was the champagne after landing. Worth spending the money and for lifetime experience.

Beautiful sunrise ballooning experience

Worth every penny. Aside from the breakfast (best take your own) the balloon ride was amazing. We were fortunate the wind was with us and we saw some breathtaking views, including the golden temple at Dambulla which we visited afterwards. Lovely crew, lovely trip.

We booked the day before and we're told we'd be picked up at 5am the next day. No one came. We called the number - they answered the first call then put the phone down and wouldn't answer again. 4.30 wake up for nothing and no explanation. Avoid.

It is sad that this comment is made without a name or a way to replying. I, as the owner take personal care of each and every passenger from booking time to pick up to flight and drop back after the flight. It is I who call each passenger if there is a cancellation due to weather conditions. Could you be kind enough to identify yourself for me to look into this matter. My phone line is 24/7 and i answer every call. Be also kind enough to give me the name and number of the person you contacted for your flight along with your details. Thank you.

If I was able to give this a 6/5 I would. The experience was so worth the price. From the time that the company's driver picks you up at your hotel (yes, it is a very early start) and drops you off at the launching site, until the balloon finally touches down in some far away field for a glass of champagne and the driver takes you home - the whole adventure is magical. The pilots are highly qualified and knowledgeable (you never question your safety at any time). It is so peaceful soaring over the land below - waving to the kids as you glide by. If you get the chance - do it!!
