Lakmal, as if by fate, had approached us in Kandy when we were in need of transport from there to Haputale. From there, without even need to ask, Lakmal took it upon himself to take us past a spice garden that would otherwise have been completely hidden from the roadside, through the charming Nuwara Eliya, past the impressive Damro Tea factory, and up to Lipton's seat overlooking mountains and valleys, draped in tea fields, and ultimately to our lodgings that evening in Haputale.
What's more, he offered to stay on for the next day, taking us through Ella and the nine arch bridge, through to a safari at Udawalawe National Park, and finally to Hiriketiya where we parted ways, beaming from ear to ear.
Prices were more than reasonable, agreed upon at the outset of the trip, with only some additional funds (negligible) to part ways with for fuel stops, on what was a long journey through central Sri Lanka.
Could not thank Lakmal enough, and will absolutely keep his name at the forefront of my mind for any future trips.

We took a taxi from Kandy to Siguria with Lakmal. The price was the best available and the journey was perfect. He gave us bottles of water for the trip and stopped to see attractions along the way at no extra cost.
Lakmal is very friendly and answered all our questions about Sri Lanka and he's a great signer too!

We took four journeys with Lakmal over four days in Sri Lanka. He was great company, very interesting to talk to and has a great singing voice! His driving was very safe and he was really good at recommending local things to do. I would highly recommend Lakmal!

First we had a Tuk Tuk drive with him in Kandy and asekd if he would also do a tour to Sigiriya with a car which was no problem. As we were very tired from our long drive that day we didn't wanna decide that evening if we would want to go or not. Sadly the next day when we wrote him after breakfast ge was already fully booked but arranged within 10 minutes a driver for the same very cheap price and we could choose the kind of car - was a very nice tour to Sigiriya

Lakmal drove us on the four hour trip from Kandy to Puttalam. His car was very clean and comfortable and his driving was very good and safe. His price was very competitive and good value.
Lakmal is very friendly and entertained us on th long trip with good conversation.
I would recommend using his services.

We met Lakmal in Kandy. He gave us a ride to our hostel and we arranged a tour for the next day. It turned out he got sick but organized a very good friend of his to take us to spice garden. Very friendly, humble and kind man. I recommend.

We met Lakmal on the street in Kandy and he seemed very honest and friendly. He gave me his card and said to look him up online before we committed to giving him our business.
We looked him up and all seemed well so booked him in to drive us from Kandy to Yala. The drive was very comfortable and the agreed price included air conditioning and fuel.
I suffer from bad car sickness which is pretty hard to avoid in Sri Lanka as drivers are downright crazy but Lakmal drove carefully and professionally the entire time, we pulled over and fed some wild monkeys which was awesome too. Highly recommend. Thanks Lakmal.

The best driver ever!!!
We meet Lakmal out of our hotel in Kandy, we agreed with him a special prize for our tour to Dambulla, Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa for the day after.
During our trip fron Dambulla he stopped us in an Ayurveda Garden, we found it amazing! Thanks to Lakmal!
After Polonnaruwa he took us in a very good restaurant in the nearby.
Then we decide to continue our trip with him from Sigiriya to Nilaveli and then from Nilaveli to Colombo Airport. For a very special price. During our trip to Colombo Airport he stopped us in a very nice bathik where we bought many nice present.
He was a very good driver, always in time, smiling and cared about our requests. Good english and nice to talk with him, but he also know when you are tired and need to rest. Very good and comfortable car. Always honest with the price, we really enjoyed travelling with him. We took several pictures together since he was part of our experience in Sri Lanka. I really recommend this guy, he is special!!!

Can't describe how disappointed we were with Lakmal after our taxi ride from Kandy to Arugam Bay. We opted to go with Lakmal (and cancel a different driver) because he approached us in Kandy with good English and coming across as professional and trustworthy.
After agreeing a price of LKR 11,500 he picked us up the following afternoon. Halfway through the trip we stopped at a petrol station to fill up. He asked for money to pay for the fuel which I thought was strange but assumed this would just be taken off the price at the end.
Anyhow after giving him 4200 rupees for petrol, he still demanded the full 11,500 when we got to Arugam Bay. Claiming that petrol was 'extra' and not included in the price. I've never had an instance of paying for a taxi drivers fuel before, we also never encountered any other taxi company doing this in Sri Lanka. Lakmal claimed this was 'normal' and all taxis in Sri Lanka are like this, which we knew for a fact wasn't true.
Lakmal was deliberately deceptive. Fully aware we would be assuming fuel was included, he never mentioned this 'extra' requirement. After agreeing to pay some of the extra charge we gave him some stern advice about being more honest and open with future customers. Hopefully he has taken this advice on board, until then I wouldn't trust this company with my money. Go elsewhere, there are plenty of other excellent drivers in Sri Lanka who won't try and pull this kind of behaviour.

First of all I would like to apologise regarding that incidence. behalf of Lakmal Lanka Company.
Me Lakmal Sanjeewa Senadheera, the owner of Lakmal Lanka company, responsibly want to say that this incidence has happened out of my awarness.
This irresponsible thing has done by a driver who was warking in our company. His name is Gayan Dileepa He has shown up as the owner of the Lakmal Lanka Company infront of the guests, and he has convienced the guests for the rip. After the trip he haven't informed anything about the journey to the company. And please be informed that he haven't use a vehicle of our property for this trip
Me the owner of Lakmal Lanka company got to know about this incident when I was going through my tripadvisor account. A guest from England has add a bad review about my company and about the taxi on my trip advisor account regarding this incident.
Just after I saw this review I wanted to find out what has happend there. And then I got to knew a driver of my company is responsible for this incident, named Gayan dileepa And he already said that he did that, As an action we have already advised him and fired him from my company.
I would like to declare that in the future nothing like this will take place from our side. And I highly apologize regarding this incident.
