It is a very nice place with very nice people. Many smile, many little restaurants with good food (open also in the night) and wonderful landscape along the Danube! Good little hotels and private rooms and camping.

Nature, peace, good people.
excellent cheap accommodation.
Silver Lake and its surroundings for guests and visitors who love nature. It is near Belgrade, only an hour and fifteen minutes away by car. Restaurants and Villa Dincic much good. Very friendly staff.

Silver lake is peaceful place for 4-5 days vacation located 115km from Belgrade. Beach on the lake is small and in the season can be crowded. We were in beginning og the june and i was first few days of the season. There was not crowded at all. You can swim in the lake or in small aqua park. Beach is shingle and pathway with bars, fastfood and restaurants is on the top. There are few hotels and restaurants on wery beginning of lake and private apartments an villas 350m in wery nice street with flowers and maintained yards. Veliko gradiste is only 3km away an there is beautiful park beside the river. It is small town with history and many famous former and current citizens. Boat trip to Golubac fortress is something that jou must not miss. Lake is good for swimming, hiking, fishing, pedal boat riding and meny mor outdoor activities. There is large auto camp in beautiful nature. My recommendation for weekend or 4-5 days vacation.

The lake was originally a narrow arm of the Danube which has been dammed at either end and, notwithstanding the tourist development at the end closest to Veliko Gradiste town, is a pretty and peaceful place to spend some time. The tourist development is all quite low key and it's really pleasant sitting on one of the outdoor terraces with a drink watching the sun go down over the water.

We went there for 1 day, did not stay for the night. It is connected to Danube river and is nice place for a holiday, walking and swimming during the summer. There re also many restaurants offering fish. We tried the barbecue cat fish and it was very tasty.

There is nothing nice to say about place. Lake is pretty but nothing special. There is nothing to do and places are dingy and sad.

It is a place where Danube river becomes silver. You can haves fun here if you come in season (June till late September). There are lot's of festivals. Be careful when you go swimming there are no guards. Sometimes water is not completely good quality.:(

Silver Lake is a decent summer destination if all you want is to relax for a couple of days. The area is quiet, accommodation offers good value for your money, there is at least one restaurant with excellent food and you can safely swim in the Danube. Ok, it is a lake made from a dammed branch of the Danube, but that's a technical detail. More about this you can find in the great description wrote bu user TOVG.

However, Silver Lake can become boring if you spend there more than 2 days because there is nothing to see and not much to do, except relax, eat, swim (in the lake or a pool) and ride (hydro)bikes.
The "beach" is small and with pebbles, not sand, but at least there also pebbles in the water and it feels good and safe when you step on them.

For me it was a good choice, because I stopped here on my way from Bucharest to Belgrade and again on the way back. To the east there is only Golubac with its fortress, but not the best choice if you want to swim and after that 150 km of winding road through the gorge until the border with Romania. To the west is Smederevo (which you should stop and see, so it makes sense to be there in the morning), Belgrade and Novi Sad.

All in all, a good place to stop and rest, not for sightseeing.

Silver Lake is one of the most popular resorts in Serbia. The lake is actually a branch of the Danube river, which in 1971. was converted upstream by a dam, so the coastal of ram marches would be protected from underground waters. the lake has area of 4,5 km2, maximum with 0,3 km and 14 km in lenght. By tape the lake belongs to the artificial storage lakes. In the afternoon, when the sun starts to set behind the Carpathians, a lot of sun rays make the lake has a silver glow. It owes its name, Silver to that glow. Due to the powerful pumps, water level in the lake is always lower than the level of the Danube, and the constant flow of fresh water is provided. On its way underground water is filtered through numerous sand dunes which allows water to be perfectly clean and clear. Silver Lake, rich in fish is a true paradise for fisherman. It is known among fishermen by the caught carp weighing 44 kg. All types of freshwater fish are represented in the lake:Catfish, perch, carp, grasscarp, bighead...Silvee Lake is of an exceptional beauty and from the beginning it has become a popular holiday resort and the backbone of tourism in this region. The shade of acacia trees, and good climate make staying on the lake memorable. April, 2012. at Silver Lake was built in National Rowing Centre.
