Visit the newborn country and it's Cultural Capital Prizren, with its charming mosque- and church-filled old town shines with an enthusiasm that's infectious. <br>Walkthrough the old town and enjoy the Ottoman architecture. Although hidden behind the big Cathedral of Saint George, the small old Saint George's Church is a must-see for several reasons. First of all, it dates back to 15th century and the style of its frescoes are one of the most unique ones in Kosovo. Secondly, this Serbian Orthodox Church has been so neetly renovated, that it's partial destruction in 2004 is practically invisible. Thirdly, it is considered to be one of the smallest churches with rich interiors in this part of southeastern Europe. Nonethless, a visitor should also pay attention to the Cathedral, especially due to its historical importance in the life of local Christians. All in all, a must-see when in Prizren!

After visiting the Sinan Pasha Mosque where entry is free and picture-taking is allowed, I was disappointed to learn that this is not true at this church. Taking pictures both outside and inside this church is not allowed'. i was taking pictures outside when a Security Guard stopped me. She pointed to a signage about this policy. I apologized for not seeing this sign. The interiors were closed during my visit so I wondered If I should visit it again.

Working in the area and Kosovan friends took us for a walk round this very interesting city, a place of real character. Given my limited knowledge of the history of Kosovo, I was intrigued to find a Serbian Orthodox Church so far south but also a Catholic Church too nearby - great to see the cultural coexistence. A very nice building and interior with typical Orthodox iconography and a reminder that it’s not just us English for whom St George is a hero! Sadly I didn’t have time to go into the Catholic Church or very impressive looking mosques of Prizen. Hopefully will return again at some point.

The interior is so plain it hurts your eyes. Really noth worth the trouble going in. The exterior is nothing special either.
