The historian guide explained the pieces and the special hamam building. We enjoyed the view from the clock tower.

Friendly Staff at this small Museum!
Apr 2019 • Solo
The English speaking staff asked me If I would like to climb the Clock Tower. Having just visited the Kajala Fortress, I declined his offer.

The exhibits are generally artifacts of the Bronze Period - rings, arrows, items made of clay, etc Some displays are shown outside of the museum such as broken slabs.

Tiny, but climb that clock tower!
Aug 2018 • Business
The archeological museum itself used to be a hamam, and this is one of the reasons why you should defintetely go and see it. The collection of archeological artefacts from Kosovo is still tiny, but nevertheless worth to be seen. I advise you to climb the clock tower (it isn't that difficult - I've managed it easily with a broken arm and a limp) because the view from it is simply mesmerising.

An excellent collection of antiquity
Oct 2016 • Couples
An excellent collection but attending staff are less than enthused - at least those who were there when we visited. We read, after our visit, that there are guided tours, but we were never offered a tour. Some of the exhibits were in darkness (we had to use the light from our phone) and the data projectors were not on. The staff could not do anything about it: clearly museum administrators do not consider visibility of their excellent collection a priority. Other cities can only dream of such a wealth of items from antiquity.

If education of the public was another priority for museum administrators, the museum store would carry books about its exhibits, or books on the history of Macedonia.

Really nice visit

I didn't expect much from this museum, and certainly there aren't a whole lot of exhibits - and nothing you won't have seen elsewhere. However, the guy there was great. He spoke English and I think German to the other couple there, and he pointed out some of the more interesting items to us. He also explained the history and use of the building, which is an old set of Turkish baths that has been nicely converted to a museum (possibly a work in progress, there are a couple of empty rooms). We also went up the clock tower (a little nerve wracking if like me you have a decent fear of heights, but ok). This offers a nice view if you don't feel like going up to the castle! It also seemed to be free to visit.

Samll but interesting museum.

The museum is small and not completely finished, but the building itself is worth a visit. The main museum is a former Turkish bath, and it also includes the old clock tower. The views of Prizren from the top of the clock tower are great, especially of the nearby Orthodox church. The museum guide was great to talk with.
