Milena Pavlovic Barilli is a jewel of Serbian painting. The small gallery presents the lavish talent of this Serbian painter on the way from her native Pozarevac to cover of New York`s Vogue was presented in a small gallery. Just on hour`s drive from Belgrade to Milena`s wonderful world of imagination, we enjoy the works with which Milena conquered the spoiled audience of New York.

I have been to this gallery on numerous occasions, and always found something new and interesting! It's situated in the center of PoĹľarevac, next to the museum, so you won't miss it! As the other reviewer said, it has a lot of works by Milena Pavlovic Barili, which are strange, but beautiful depictions of herself, and of biblical scenes. A real treat for art connoisseurs! I suggest it warmly!

Milena Pavlović Barili was one of the most prominent Serbian artists of the first half of 20th century. She was well acclaimed in artistic circles of Europe and USA.
The gallery houses nice selection of here works from all the periods of her short life including posters and covers she did for Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and other famous magazines and some of her personal belongings.
The problem is that the gallery is open from 7 to 15h from Tue till Fri and from 8 to 16h on Sat.

Weird working hours - from 7am to 3pm (who is going to the gallery at 7 in the morning, come on guys!). I checked by phone before coming to make sure they were open. When on a rainy day we showed up with a little girl and a baby very unpolite lady told us they didn't work on Mondays (which she could have told us on phone). Very disappointed

This gallery contains major works by perhaps the most fascinating Serbian artist that ever lived (I said 'fascinating' not necessarily the most well known). In fact, coming to Belgrade and not coming to Pozarevac (1:15 hours away) and not seeing this gallery would be a hugely missed opportunity to learn something about a unique biography of a painter, illustrator, femme du monde and paradigm of female emancipation. The exhibit is superbly, chronologically organized in one single, but very large space. The curators are extremely helpful and will give you a personalized tour answering every possible question. Following the tour, we were served a fruit juice and given the opportunity to look at the publications about Barili. One thing to suggest: please make these publications available for purchase in the Museum. And thank you for a wonderful time and hospitality!

The gallery is housed in the birthplace of painter Milena Pavlovic Barili, which coincidentally was known in the world than in Serbia. The gallery is located over 800 papers and 600 drawings by the artist did during his short life (1909-1945). On Milena's paintings mainly occurs one face, the face of the artist, oval, quiet and a bit mistrioznog expression. Milena was beautiful, and her paintings are like her.

The gallery is also the birthplace of Milena Pavlovic Barili, opened to the public in 1963. It contains a large number of her paintings, studies, watercolors, personal items. The gift is Milena`s mother Pavlovic Barili Danica to the city of Pozarevac. Milena is an artist who is better known in the world than in Serbia, and I recommend it to both domestic and foreign tourists to tour.
