A nice place for a walk or picnic. There aren't many different activities there, but you can rent something like a bicycle and ride around on the asphalt there or on a pedal boat on the lake. It seemed that there was also some kind of boat that could be used for a round trip on the lake. Free parking area for cars.

A young Serbian man from the front desk at the hotel strongly recommended to me to visit the Lake Palic as the day was beautiful! After visiting Subotica, I drove my rental car to the lake for maybe 10 minutes. There is a good free parking area. I am glad because I went. The lake looked stunning! The landscape is very nice. There are several art nouveau buildings (the hotel) that together with the city hall, the synagogue, the blue fountain, and the Raichle palace make of Subotica a very lovely town.

Palić, the lake and the settlement by the same name are 8 kilometres East of Subotica. It offers countless opportunities for versatile activities and sport on and around the lake. The lazy Pannonian plane is ideal for a long relaxing walks and bicycle rides. Bicycles and family bicycles can be hired at 3 spots in Palić.

I saw another review saying the lake was awful because of the colour. I would like to point out this is a naturally occurring algae that feeds on the high salt content of the lake water (the salt content is from the soil under the lake). The lake itself is bright green and has medicinal properties, although its fine for water sports, swimming and usual lake activities it is a bright green colour and almost opaque.
The nearby spring water is black and is a mix of the spring water and an underground hot spring and is black due to the mineral content, again it's perfectly safe if a bit scary looking.

Neither the lake nor the spring are polluted, it is naturally occurring colours. The surrounding area is a little dilapidated but the restaurants are good and if you only want to relax for a couple of days it is quiet and relaxing.

PALIC

LAKE THAT EVOKES RELAXED TIMELESSNESS

Although I came in Palic, only the Pannonia lake who competes Lake Balaton, primarily because of the Film Festival, morning I dedicated visit to the zoo. Of course, the walk along the coast, to the Ladies Bath! However, for those who have not yet come here: Palic is a small village 6 kilometers from the town of Subotica and 5 kilometers) from the E75 Budapest - Belgrade highway. Zoo is located close to the lake and wide-open spaces are almost twice the size of Belgrade. It has a much smaller animal, but makes up for it all
Size and serenity of green space. In this region, the people and of animals exposed to feel far more humane than in similar gardens placed in town center. In a word, the time spent in Palic zoo enables beautiful and pleasant relaxation. Founded in 1949. On the territory of 10 hectares.
Strange, but this natural matinee proved to be quite adequate announcement of stay in Palic. Indeed, from '' Lifka, never recorded movie'' on Subotica I went directly to the stone Summer Stage in Palic. I arrived for the opening of the International Film Festival. Events through which the blow cinematographic European and global winds. Because what we need is a permanent, mild wind. We already have enough cobwebs. However, fortunately, there is no in Palic. There is a lake, with a coastline framed it and follow 17 miles., A representative for 160 years part of Subotica, Vojvodina, northern Serbia, and that part of Central Europe where it with Balkans touches.
On Palic almost pleasant breeze blowing. There peace and serenity but not stuffiness. In the pine forest, 1950. designed by Balthazar Dulic of stone Summer Theatre was built. Near has closed cinema hall. And tennis courts. In addition, Zoo. Moreover, it all starts from the water tower (built in 1912). Beside it officially enters the spa-lake-park complex. In addition, 1912. year was officially opened The Town Hall of Subotica, Grand Terrace, and Ladies Bath and mentioned Water tower – on Palic. More 1897th on this side of the set off a tram. Noble city of Subotica, from that time to the beginning of the century, got a resort, but also elite and populist because Ludos addition, it is the residents here in the north of Backa, and any other only water navigable-bathing surface.
The first day of the festival, and staying in Palic, we completed on gala dinner, which was prepared by the Festival in the "Small inn - Kisvendelo," which has its origins back in the 1856. With the local culinary specialty, which includes the Hungarian dishes, the famous wine from the sand, which is present in the environment, sunset on the
lakeshore, was unusually friendly. There would certainly Proust found his lost time. Palic, therefore, makes me feel a relaxed timelessness. Here, the Allen and Rene, safely, could make the continuation of his cult film '' Last Year at Marienbad''. Palic it, I am quite sure, completely calmly. With a slight sense of “déjà vu'', because somewhere in their spas beginning (1845), this is largely the lake, and nearly equal, mentions in Baedeker of Austria-Hungary. Apart from Karlovy Vary, Wiesbaden, St. Moritz.

The lake looks fabulous... hmm swimming in it is questionable. I was in and out pretty fast but maybe it was the time of year I was there. (August) I loved that all the locals hang out there. I played some beach volleyball and got to watch a Serbian professional beach volleyball player. (I wish I could remember his name) They have basketball courts, walking paths around the lake, and a restaurant on the lake. They have a super cool abandon house near the lake which looks exactly like a vampire house from old movies. It really adds to the ambiance of the lake.

I wish I could write more but I was only there for an afternoon.

Palic Lake is a great place to enjoy a walk or different water activities. Surrounded by large green areas, this lake could be a wonderful place to enjoy a sunny day during the weekends.
