We had an amazing time visiting Rose village and the WWII submarine shelter with our tour guide Alan. Alan was incredibly informative and friendly, he really made our afternoon special. Kayaking offers a completely different perspective of Herceg Novi, and we had a great time strolling round the idyllic village of Rose. Kayaking back against the sunset was definitely a highlight of the holiday and it was absolutely worth the post-kayaking soreness! The kayaks were in very good condition, we were provided with life jackets, and felt in very safe hands with Alan. Highly recommend a guided tour if you’re visiting Herceg Novi, if you’re lucky your guide will be Alan! Thanks for making our time in Herceg Novi so special.

Very relaxing tour with great light in the late afternoon. We went from 2-6p and had a beautiful view with the setting sun on the mountains at the end. The weather was perfect, not too hot and double kayaks was great.

We went on the Rose and Submarine tour in September. Our guide Ljubo was lovely and shared lots of his personal experiences as a HercegNovi resident.
The paddle was challenging but rewarding as the views of the bay are very special from the water. Keep in mind that it’s a longish paddle to cross the bay so pace yourself. That said, the return is easier as the currents and the wind seems to help.
The village of Rose is beautiful and has some nice little restaurants where we stopped for beer and pancakes. Bring cash as it’s not possible to pay by card (though there is an ATM in town).
We enjoyed visiting the submarine hideaway, such an interesting historical landmark. There was also time for a quick walk around the village and for some snorkelling off the nice beach.
Overall we really enjoyed our tour!

Maybe it was lack of fluent English, maybe somehing else, but our guide didn't tell us anything about the places we visited or saw. The pace of the paddling was quite hasty, leaving no time for a sip of water or taking photos. It seems we rushed the way to Rose and rushed back, and in between there was too much free time to kill on the beach. So all in all: nice views and a good excercise, I'm glad we went - but the expectations after reading the other praising reviews weren't met.

We really enjoyed the kayak tour even though it was quite exhausting to get there. We've seen it as a good excercise. :)
The time we got to stay in Rose was enough to stroll through the beautiful village, to eat something in a nice restaurant and to swim in the ocean.
All in all it was worth doing it and i'm sure to get sore muscles tomorrow. ;)
Both guides were really courteous and kind .

Was very happy to be able to go on the Rose and Submarine Shelter trip during my few days in Herceg Novi. Booked the trip via quick and friendly e-mail communication with Ljubo. Our guide Milos did a great job kayaking us to the submarine shelter which was really interesting to see. Afterwards we had time on the beach and the idyllic village of Rose. Very cosy village with a couple of restaurants and a nice promenade.

We really enjoyed this experience. It is an opportunity to get onto the water and see the bay from a different perspective. Also I loved that it was simple and environmentally friendly.
Also a great way to find out more about the country with our excleent guide. We learnt a lot:)
We had good confidence in our guide Ivana.
So glad we did this trip:)

First of all - Don't worry if you've never kayaked before. However, I wouldn't say I'm unfit and I found the kayaking (about 7KM) a little challenging in the hot weather. That said, you can go at your own pace and share a kayak with a friend or partner.
The guide was exremely patient and accommodating - and was knowledgeable of the area.
It's a fantastic expeirence being in the middle of the bay in just a kayak. Mountains surround you.
Rose a lovely little village and you have the chance to eat from there and go for a swim (the water is very clean), but watch out for those pesky urchins
Herceg Novi is a lovely little town by the way, but parking is a bit of a struggle. We found this the worst town in Montenegro to find parking for. Even if you find a space by the road, most phones aren't compatible to pay with so you have to find a newsstand. I strongly recommend trying the parking place next to the Post Office near 82 Njegoseva

We did the half day kayak tour to the submarine tunnels and Rose. It was a great day out, off the beaten track and a good way to see the area. The guide was very friendly and we would definitely recommend this trip.

I’d emailed Ljubo directly as the website mailer wasn’t working properly and he emailed me back and kept me posted about when there’d be a trip I could join. It was a beautiful day and only 3 of us on the tour, though Ljubo likes to keep all the trips fairly small for safety reasons. The sheltered waters in the bay are pretty calm and it was idyllic on the water. This trip was a fantastic way to explore some of the bay and hear about life around Boka from a local. It starts from Zalo beach next to the port in Herceg-Novi. He set a leisurely pace and was happy to answer questions or just let you get on and paddle. He’s clearly very proud of Boka, seemed to know everyone and was a great source of information that proved valuable for the rest of the trip. I can’t recommend this any more highly. Will probably contact him about exploring somewhere else whilst I’m here too.

Hi, we would like to visit Herceg Novi in October. Will we still be able to rent kayaks then?
Thanks,
Alex
Hello,
my name is Zuzana, I come from Slovakia and I have some questions.
Where can I book a trip? I would like to take this trip, for example, on 12 May. Is it possible? and how much does it cost for one person?
What if the bad weather? because they report bad weather on these days.
Can you give me any information please?
Thank you:-))
Best regards
Zuzana
Hello Zuzana. The price for the tour is 35 €, but if you go alone with the guide is 40 € (as a private tour) We will be in contact the day before, to check the weather forecast. Regards Ljubo
