We took a boat trip to see the blue grotto and while it was a beautiful cave as the weather was quite overcast on the day with very little sunshine there was no 'blue' in the grotto- it needs the sunlight from outside to make the cave blue, had we known that we'd have taken the tour on a sunnier... We took the speed boat tour from Kotor that included popping in to a Cold War submarine pen and a stop at a small island in the bay. The boat journey was fine and gave a good view of most of the Bay of Kotor. On arrival at the Blue Grotto entrance a number of boats were going in and... More

We went there by boat (from Herceg Novi : 12/15€ - includes Blue Cave, Mamula Island and a stop at a beach nearby). The Blue Cave is quite crowded but our guide took us to another cave (few meters after the first one) where the water is also blue and where we were alone. It is worth the trip.

I have never seen water that color, it's well worth the visit. There were lots of other boats but we managed to jump in and had great fun.

We booked this trip because of the pictures and the rumour on the street aswell. First off, the boat out to the cave: way too crowded. I understand that they have to make a living, but that is not a safe amount of people on a boat. Second: When we came to the cave, after changing into a bigger boat,... More

We were keen to take a boat trip to see the Blue Grotto and Marmula, but all the trips from Herceg Novi take 5 hours and include a visit to a beach too, which we didn't want, so we chartered a private boat for 80 euros for a 3 hours trip and it was fantastic. The boat was only small,... More

Fantastic day on a lovely pri ate yacht visiting an old Fort Mamula. You can swim off the boat and into the Blue caves or go to beaches that can only be reached by boat. Slobo the young boat owner spoke very good English and was very informative and interesting to speak to. Excellent value for money and highly recommended.... More

Swimming in totally blue water within a cave is a must. Price was ok with the tour we had. Think it was around 5 euro a head. Recommend for something unique and a great memory.

You should come early in the day to avoid crowds. This way you can have a swim in the cave ;) If you are visiting the region, do take a boat trip here...

It was an amazing experience, I was with my friends, the boat trip was excellent. We took a boat at Herceg Novi. Stella was the best!!! When we arrived to the cave I felt butterflies in my stomach. The water was blue, we jumped to the sea. I can not describe what I felt, I saw a lot of fishes... More
