Mogren Beach
About
This is one of the main and favourite beaches of Budva, consisting of two sandy beaches connected by a short tunnel. The beach is located about 100m west of the Old Town. It is very easy to reach through a well marked coastal path.

    A beach of two halves
Mogren beach turned out to be our favourite beach during our stay in Budva in late April / early May 2022, where the daily temps were in the low to mid 20’s, beautifully warm and great for sunbathing. This is a beach of two halves and both are accessed by following the path from Budva old town with the ocean on your left past the Budva ballerina statue around the coast for a few hundred meters, at the time of writing one side is way more commercial that the other. The closest side of Mogren beach to Budva old town and the first one you’ll come to is the most commercial, sun beds (€20 per day for 2 x beds / 2 x umbrellas / 1 x table) a bar, a restaurant, a shop, free showers and a toilet (€1 per use per person). The second beach (our favourite) was way less commercial and had none of the above facilities / this is accessed by a small path through a hole in the rock and either a jump down a chasm and climb up on rock (good balance required) or a precarious balance across a single 10cm wide 5m long steel balance beam to avoid the chasm and wet legs. The second beach is not accessible by and not recommended for push chairs, buggies, strollers, wheel chairs, the elderly & infirm.

    Only sea is nice
Average because the sea and the wind are nice. We went to Mogren2, which is less crowded than Mogren1. There is a huge plastic playground (??) in the middle of the sea, which i really dislike. 2 sunbeds+1 umbrella: 20 eur The toilets are far away, the changing closet do smell awful :/ They have a menu, but they don’t have the drinks that are written. There is no trash, we made our own. This was the first beach i went in Budva, i hope it’s not the best :)

    Honky Tonk baby!
The water on this beach is clean, but significantly colder than at the surrounding beaches. Two beds and an umbrella cost 20 Euros. The strangest thing about this beach is that it is definitely NOT a family friendly beach, with loud progressive trance music blasting right near the "aqua jump" structure that is presumably tailored towards children/teenagers. Both Mogren Beach 1 as well as 2 get really crowded with a significant percentage of people smoking. The infrastructure is average/poor and overall value low. Pretty "Honky Tonk"/tacky, reminiscent of a western party resort of the 1970s.

The nature and the beach is amazing. I can't say the same about the service and the staff. You pay 30 euros for two beds and a broken umbrella. And to order a so called sandwich with ham and cheese, you have to be "served" by a really rude waiter, who ignores you if you don't order the most expensive thing on the menu. The sandwich is expensive and it's not even good to begin with.

The beach itself is very nice but its overpopulated, the private beach was fulllll and the sunbeds were inches apart from each other, it was like a jungle plus it was super expensive considering the service, you had to guard the umbrellas from not flying away when it became a bit windy cause the umbrellas were super light and old. I would give this place 1/10 sorry but not worth it. There were plenty other beaches like hawai beach that was spacious and worth it.

It’s a public beach, but most part of it is occupied by sunbeds of a private company.
We were just swimming near this place and put our bags just on the beach. The administrator was shouting at us and pushing, and even wanted to start a fight.
His final words “I’m Montenegrin, so I’m boss here”.

The location of this beach is perfect. The beach is a little rocky. Two beach chair with 2 umbrellas is 30 Euros. There is a small Cafe. There is paid bathroom and free simple showers
The attendants do not bother to keep the area clean and presentable. Lots of trash around. For 30 Euros they should maintain a clean area.

Mogren 2 is a great beach in beautiful place near the rocks. The water is clean and transparent, but usually there are a lot of people. Aqua shoes are required.
If you want to visit sand beach I would recommend Jazz beach. This one is the best from beaches near Budva.

Mogren Beach restaurant has a very bad attention. The Service is horrible. You ask something to the people at the bar and they said, “Talk to the server” you know the answer, please do it easy.
I sat on a table, ordered something to eat and drink, the waitress gave me the check first than the food, and waited me to pay without eat. I paid and wait for a Hamburger for about 45’. One more thing, I had to clean the table.

We loved it here. Sure, it’s not perfect white sand but no beach in Montenegro is! We found it clean and the water is crystal clear and quite calm. A good beach for families. We preferred Mogren 1 to Mogren 2. If you want something to do you can collect ‘sea glass’ from the shoreline - it is quite addictive!

We were literally kicked out from the “chair & umbrella” zone area even though we were not using or blocking umbrellas or chairs. You still have to pay to be in that “zone” no matter what. We were asked to go to the very end of the beach. So much for the public beach.

How does this place rate 4 out of 5? How? It's the filthiest, most disgusting beach I've ever been to. You literally have to swim through filth to get to the relatively clean part of the sea. Some things that passed me on my way there: band aids, all kinds of plastic stuff, SANITARY PADS! Yes used, blood stained sanitary pads! Not one but two! And people are letting their kids swim in there without a worry in the world. I do not and will not understand how this beach is so popular.
