We drove up the mountain road which you need to do with caution, primarily to look at the view/sunset etc but also to look at the Monastery. Beautiful position. They welcome visitors. Be aware that they close to visitors at 7.30pm.

This was a great experience, after a really long hike i finally reached this monastery. One sister could speak a little english and give me a tour inside the monastery. It was a great experience!

This monastery has such a beautiful location high in the hills above Sveti Stefan. We were there with a tour local tour guide for a private tour. This is monastery for ladies and has remarkable view of the Budva bay.

We saw this monastery information in Tripadvisor so we drove with our rented car up the mountains to find it. It was quite difficult to find it but we succeeded.

We rang the bell and a lady working and living there came to open the gate for us. I myself am not Christian but I'm open to hearing other religious things (I guess I am more or less non-religious although I do belong to a certain religion). The lady gave me a cloth to hide my knees as I was wearing shorts.

She told me that 14 sisters live in the monastery and she told us about the history of their religion and that they are basically "Serbs" even though the monastery is located in Montenegro. She explained that each sister has a role there and also showed us natural products like soap, etc, that they sell to tourists.

She was really enthusiastic to tell us about how they are cleansing their hearts and minds every day.

It really was an interesting and yet weird or odd experience to be there. We were the only tourists there during the 30 min we were there so I guess this place is not yet so widely known.

It may be worth a visit if you would like to have some spiritual experience!

It is a bit farther down the curving coast road which almost mesmerizes with its wonderful view around each bend. But do not miss this gem. Well preserved and on a promontory that gives another marvelous view.

A great place to visit if you're visiting Budva!
Use this excursion to walk over Čelobrdo village and catch extraordinary panoramic views of Budva’s coastline and hotel island St. Stephen.
