This is one of the important places in Romania, as the traditional ruling coury of Wallachia's rulers. The ruins are inspiring, perhaps more effort could be put in how the display is done - more visual, storytelling and interesting. The church is very interesting with...More

The site is worth seeing when you visit the city. It can be seen from Chindia tower as well but also from the ground.

I visited the city and the complex of buildings, the court, church and tower. Very interesting, well preserved. While visiting we got caught by a summer rain and took cover in the dungeons.

We have arrived there wished to spend some time exploring the ruins, but they have no possibility for card payment, only cash. We decided that was too much of a trouble to search the city for an ATM and, we went in a bar nearby....More

You can explore the ruins and go up the tower for a great view of the surrounding city and a look down at the Princely Court. They were continuing the excavation and upgrades while we were there; it's good to see places being kept up....More

We headed for Curtea Domneasca in Targoviste as a day trip from Bucharest, visiting the complex for the first time, which was worth it in itself, though its surroundings are poor in natural beauty and the scenery seems decrepit and lacking investment. Location: One hour...More

Lovely court with plenty spots to enjoy for art and history as well as architecture lovers. Especially The Great Princely Church and The Chindia tower are allowing one to feel the spirit of old times in Danubian Principalities. Great place indeed.

The overall complex of the Old Court Ruins, Princely Court, Princely Church and the Tower are well worth the 10 Lei entry fee, however the Old Court Ruins themselves needs a little more explaining. You can walk down into the ruins and along the side...More
