This ensemble of buildings is one of the monumental architectural works in Oradea and Transylvania, typical for the secession style. The architects Komor Marcell and Jakab Dezső won the contest for the construction of this complex. Two Jewish lawyers, Dr. Kurlander Ede and Dr. Emil Adorjan, decided to finance, using their own resources, the construction of a noteworthy building in Oradea. The work started in 1907, under the supervision of the civil engineer Sztarill Ferenc, and in December 1908 the building was completed. Consisting of two unequal and asymmetrical buildings, connected to a third one, placed in the middle and more isolated, the complex housed a theatre, ballrooms, a casino and offices. The Y-shaped gallery (passage) has three entrances. The Vittorio Emanuele Gallery in Milan inspired the glass-covered interior. The gallery or the Passage, as the local people know it, concentrates the most popular bars, coffee houses and pubs in the city, being the entertainment high spot of the city.

Previously a hotel, now converted to a business centre with all the renovation works happening in Oradea. The architecture is lovely and the painted glass panel depicting the Black Hawk has been preserved and restored.

There is not much to say. You sit on terrace, in this very nice, very recently renewed Art Nouveau building, and enjoy the view of the main square. You stroll in the passage, see the hectic life of the city, and that's all.

The passage is an old building which is normally totally nice and you can have an idea about this place in earlier days . Now this place is nights , full of bars and discotheques , young people , noisy , not really fancy . Days it's quite empty and dead , the architecture is still amazing , but unfortunately... More

The heart of Oradea's nightlife, the palace hosts the most important pubs of the city where people gather to party. Other than the nightlife you can enjoy the architectural beauty that is this monument. A must see while in Oradea

Just want to use this to say how nice Oradea is in general as a city as ya can't write a review on a city? I can only write reviews on places in city's? Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Anyway I came to Oradea Romania in 2006 with the princes trust we came voluntary and raised money from the course... More

Enchanting attraction, a master piece of Secession. It is so colourful and joy and the way all kind of relaxing bars or entetainment places are under it....just wonderful! I strongly recommend it for day or night visits and enjoinment! It is also located in the centre of the city, on the actual Unirii Square, brand new and renovated.

Even with renovation happening, it's an amazing building. You have art and fun together, in the night the building comes to life with the pubs downstairs. It's a must for Oradea.

Terrific building, it is a shopping arcade. At the moment it is renovated, so wait a few months. Exceptional design, really impressive on a beautiful square. Designed in the 1900-s bey Nyman one of the several jewish architects that made Oradea an Art Nouveau lovers paradise.
