The tour it's a perfect mix of history, culture and architecture, especially for those who want to discover the city in an unique way, but not spending too much time on it or gaining too much and maybe ''boring'' information. It will provide you a good understanding of why Oradea is considered the Art-Nouveau capital of Romania and why it is known as ''the city of kings'', all these behind the legends that stays in the back of the city construction.

Tasting traditional food is another way of disovering local culture. ”Plăcintă” is is a Romanian, Moldovan and Ukrainian traditional pastry resembling a thin, small round or square-shaped cake, usually filled with apples or a soft cheese such as ”Urdă”. This Romanian spirit is now known even in Japan. It is ”palinca” or ”tuica”, a liquor that is always present on any Ardeal peasant’s table and not only.

Today, the building is known as the "Queen Mary Theater" and is a truly remarkable construction. However, because the square in front is in a vast redevelopment project, few tourists approach this building to admire it. I hope that in 2021 we can enjoy another view, especially since, besides this theater, in the same area there are other beautifully renovated buildings - Astoria Hotel and Transilvania Hotel, but also two others that should be renovated Adorjan I and II Houses .

This beautiful building is an emblematic place of Oradea. It was built between 1899-1900 (in Eclectic style in Oradea). It's located in the centre so you can find it easily. Two theaters work inside: Regina Maria (Romanian) and Szigligeti Színház (Hungarian). Unfortunatelly I have never seen a play in this nice building, but I saw some performances of the Szigligeti Színház in Debrecen. (It's nearby). It was very good so I would like to see a play here in the future.

The State Theater dominates Ferdinand Square with its great façade. The construction, completed in 1900, presents a style apart from most other palaces in Oradea. An art connoisseur may notice neoclassical and neo-Renaissance decorative elements, as well as a Greek temple look of its splendid main entrance, with its peaked frontispiece, supported by Corinthian columns.

The building of the "Regina Maria" State Theater is one of the emblematic architectural monuments of Oradea and one of the best examples of Eclectic style in Oradea. The architect Rimanóczy Kálmán collaborated on this project with the architects Fellner and Helmer in Vienna, who were the main architects for buildings with the destination - theater in the whole Austo-Hungarian Empire. It is also interesting that, at the same time as the construction of the theater, the architect Rimanóczy Kálmán also completed the construction of the "Bazaar", using the materials resulting from the demolition of the building where the theater was built. It's worth visiting!

The theater of Oradea is a nice building with superb arhitecture. The place was renovated a few years ago and all the arhitectural elements are gorgeous. Here you can enjoy clasic and modern shows played by the local actors or by actors from the national theater. All is well organized and you won’t have any troubles if you choose to see a show here.
