If you look at the palace from the side with Iuliu Maniu High School, you can already realize that, after the renovation, this palace will also look impeccable. The front, from Unirii Square, even if it is covered by scaffolding, is largely restored. I look forward to completing the work. I hope that after the renovation the Palace of Greek Catholic Bishopric Palace can be visited inside.

The Greek Catholic diocese of Oradea Mare is the Eparchy of the Romanian Greek Catholic Church for the area of Oradea.

It was founded in 1777, followers of the Greek Rite having been up to that time under the jurisdiction of the Latin bishop. Originally the see was a suffragan of Esztergom (Gran); when, however, in 1853 the Greek Catholic Diocese of Făgăraș and Alba Iulia became the Archdiocese of Făgăraș and Alba Iulia, the diocese of Oradea Mare was transferred to its jurisdiction.[1] The see is divided into six archidiaconates and 19 vice-archidiaconates.

I saw this beautiful palace before the fire of 2018. Unfortunatelly it's seriously damaged. The original palace was built between 1903-1905 in Baroque and Rococo style. It was a school and a library in the past but it became Palace of Greek-Catholic Bishopric. After the fire it will be reborn. It got the second part of its tower (4 tons) in October 2019. Nowdays it is nice and I hope I can visit it after opening it.

I saw this wonderful palace before the fire and I can tell you that it looks wonderful. Work is now underway to restore the building and it looks like it will bring the palace at its original form. Probably, in 2020, we will be able to see it completed and integrated into the landscape called - Unirii Square.

The building stands out on the square for its majestic façade. In July 2019 there were big works going on. It gives the impression that when works finish the building will look radiant on the square. Enjoy!

the Greek Catholic Diocese is situated on a side street in the immediate neighborhood of the Unirii Square ; it is a barock style church which immediately makes one think that it must be a Catholic Church ; it is one of the representative churches of the city

Often went to this church because my children were learning the Greek Catholic High School.
It is beautiful both outside and inside, but most of all I liked to listen to children singing at Mass on Thursday morning.

The construction work is done between 1903 and 1905. You can see a combination of eclectic style with numerous Romanic and Byzantine decorative elements
