Golia Monastery impressed me with its special paintings and its history. An essential role was played by the guide who knew how to make a special connection between us and the church, to capture our attention. It is worth visiting this place

Is an ortodox monastery, located near the city center, maybe 10 minutes walk. Outside, it's partially surrounded by walls, resembles the medieval ones. I wasn't impressed much by architecture, maybe I was comparing Golia monaster with 3 Holy Hierarch Church from Iasi, which is indeed...More

Near the central market, this Renaissance building was well fortified when built but suffered serious fire damage in 1822 before being reinstated as a monastery in 1992

Golia is an orthodox monastery built in the 16th century that looks like a medieval fortress. It's not far from the city centre but you can also get here by tram. You can climb in the tower and get a panoramic view of the city.

The monastery is an example of medieval architecture through construction, painting and composition. Its walls and the bell tower complete the entire monastery. At this monastery was Ion Creanga deacon.

This beautiful church sits in a walled-in compound and gives opportunity for a quiet retreat from the busy streets outside. Entering the church is free. But do pay a modest amount to be escorted up to the belltower where you get great views not only...More

Impressive interior with nice paintings, but the exterior garden is not well taken care of. The tower can be visited and the view from the top is nice, even if tall and ugly comunist buildings spoil a little the landscape
