el mirador de Nasca : you can clearly see the Nasca lines : the ARBOL and the MANOS, i think it is easier to see by mirador, than by plane, you can take pictures and it is very cheap, you can buy very good book with very good pictures of all the Nasca lines and the Palpa lines both, ATTENTION : you have 3 mirador : 1 for Nasca lines and 2 for Palpa lines , see Mirador Palpa lines on tripadvisor too with my comments, with the 3 mirador you can see a lot of lines, a lot of geoglifos, easy to take pictures, very cheap , it is not necessary to take a plane ( very expensive ) and by plane it is very difficult to see the lines, the geoglifos, very quick view, many times lines are to small by plane and you see nothing, you can see after the flight, on your pictures by zoom on the computer..., i recommand to visit the 3 miradors, ATTENTION it is difficult to find the 2 miradors of Palpa, it takes some "work" to find them, but it is very interesting and you have a good view of "Reloj Solar" and "Palpa Familly", i explain how to find them in my other tripadvisor comment on Mirador Palpa lines, good luck and good visit

The view point on its own cannot give you the kind of enigmatic impression associated with the lines, so its value depends on what you expect. The plus side is that you can get some idea. You can see on the ground around the tower how lines and figures were made. I recommend to start with this. The 3 figures here, due to their shallow contours have limited visibility from the tower. While trying to identify the Tree shape, it might be useful to know that it is said to represent the huarango tree, which is not a leafy tree, but has extremely bulky roots. So, don’t look for a figure of a traditional tree, but for massive, bodied roots.

Depending on how much time you have, I would recommend to go further on the road (around a 1/2 hour extra drive), and see also Palpa figures from that view point! That already gives the impression most of us look for! (In particular if you can enrich your experience also with a visit of Ica's Regional museum the opposit side of Oltursa terminal.)

Or, do a few hours guided land tour, which includes also Chicchitara petroglyphs. I did it with Expedition Travel Peru, and can recommend them.

well, if you don´t wanna spend 70 bucks on the flight over the lines, this is your only option to actualy see some of the Nasca lines. There two miradors and there is a bus going every 30 minutes and you pay something like a dollar to go from Nasca to the first mirador , and from that point to the next mirador as well.

On the day we were in Nazca, it was too windy for flights (which we were sort of relieved about considering the price + reviews of nausea), and so we booked a trip with a drive to the "miradores" or viewing towers. It was SUPER windy and cold, so we didn't hang out in the towers, but if the objective is to see the lines, you're able to get to a few and the views on the horizon are nice too.

Visiting the lines is really best seen in three parts; one is the flight over the lines, second is the planetarium, and the third is the tower or Torre Mirador next to the Pan-American Hwy. With this you will get a complete picture of the importance and uniqueness of the lines. You can do them all in one day if you are short on time, but I recommend taking a few days. The airplane is $80 soles (not counting souvenirs that are for sale at the airport at very good prices), the tower with round trip bus transportation is $8 soles; not counting souvenirs, and the planetarium at $20 soles. I highly recommend all three and spending at least a few days in Nazca before moving on.

You have a great view of 3 of the lines, and its only s./4 for the tower and s./3 each way to catch a bus out there. makes seeing some of the cool history of the area possible for those of us who can't splurge on a flight!

I had seen the Nasca lines from the air, but did not want to miss out on a stable view from nearby. From the tower one can see three different figures, including the tree and the lizzard. One can also see many geometric lines such as trapezoids and lines that may be pointing towards the Cahuachi pyramids.

If you can't afford the cheap $150 flight, then this is the only other way to see some of these hyroglyphics...the cost is $1us for the entry to the tower which takes 2 minutes to climb...the highway runs thru the lines so seeing the actual thing is much better...flying is the only way!

This mirador is definitely worth it if you want to see the Nazca lines without flying over them in a plane. And you might as well see the lines this way (what other reason is there to come to Nazca after all?)
We were pleasantly surprised that you could see the lines so well from the lookout point. Well you can only see 2 of the figures however we knew that before and didn't expect any other. 3 soles to get in and we could stay as long as we wanted.

We used a bus company called Souyaz (located right next to the Cruz del sur terminal) to get a ticket to the Mirador (3 soles each). This was very easy and the transfer is frequent (every 30 minutes). The journey is about 15 minutes by bus.

We walked from the Mirador down to the natural mirador but this 20 minute walk from the lookout was really not worth it as there is nothing to see. Don't bother.

It is very easy to flag down a bus back to Nazca on the way back as there are several bus companies going this way.

Bring a hat, its really hot in the desert.
