Seven ‘headed’ palm tree - use your imagination
Apr 2018 • Couples
Seven headed palm tree, associated with a witch’s prediction for the destruction of the town of Ica. Small fenced off area which you pay to enter. Not sure why, when all there is to see is visible outside the fence. Quick photo and off again. Not really worth the effort, even though only 5 to 10 mins. taxi ride from Ica.

A ten minutes visit but worth visit as part of a tour
Jun 2017 • Solo
This is not worth the visit on its own, but as part of a tour it is a very interesting thing to see as it is fairly unique, a 7 heads palm tree in the form of an octopus. Really interesting story

Interesting story
Apr 2016 • Couples
This combined with the witches' park nearby made for an interesting little excursion. You'll likely be in and out of Cachiche within half an hour unless you want your fortune read or something like that, but as it's free and just a cheap, short taxi ride out of town, it's worth stopping by, particularly if you've read up on the history in advance. We weren't bothered by any kid reciting a story for tips, so that was nice. It was quite easy and cheap to get a colectivo back to the Plaza de Armas afterward.

Barely worth the taxi ride!

This place seems to be quite important in the local culture but is mainly shrouded in mystery and folklore. Locals believe it to be a mystical place but to a Western cynic, it's just a botanical curiosity the like of which you can find all over the world, probably one or two near where you live. And you can't even get close-up to this palmera because it's fenced off. Instead you get a local boy who recites to you in extremely rapid Spanish a piece he's learned by heart which he wants to get over with as fast as possible so that he can collect his propina. If you're on a tight schedule, give it a miss. If you're bored, that it might be a laugh.
