- Evelina KStockholm, Sweden6 contributionsGreat wine experience!Took the traditional tour and really enjoyed it! Our tour guide Caesar did a great job explaining everything. Also really enjoyed the wine tasting at the end. The vineyard is absolutely beautiful. Would absolutely recommend this tour to others who enjoy wine.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 29, 2023
- Daniel K1 contributionFun and informative tourReally fun tour in the oldest winery in South America - went on a solo trip in January 2024. It was a small group size with only me and two others on the tour so we had a lot of opportunities to ask questions. Our guide Alessandra was very friendly and sweet and answered all the questions we had. You are shown a short film about the history of the winery then get the chance to see the whole facility, and at the end you get the chance to try some of the wines and piscos they produce. After this you can take lunch there and buy some pisco from the shop.Visited January 2024Traveled soloWritten February 27, 2024
- Tim P7 contributionsGreat tour and Excellent tour guide Alessandra!A wonderful tour and tasting experience! Our tour guide Alessandra was the best and even though the tour was in Spanish, she translated in English as if it was her native language. I would highly recommend the tasting tour and would do it again. Thank you to Alessandra for being a wonderful tour guide.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 4, 2024
- Jennifer F102 contributionsBeautiful facility, amazing tour, and wonderful horse show.Beautiful wine tour, wine and pisco tasting, and horse show. Our guide spoke very clear English and the facility of beautiful. We began with a short film about how wine is made. Toured the wine making facility and walked through a museum of old wine making machines and barrels. We walked up to a bell tower overlooking all of the grape vines. While eating a delicious lunch we watch a horse show where a woman danced while a man on a horse also appeared to dance. The wine tasting room and our guide were beyond my expectations. We learned about wine and pisco as well as how to taste and enjoy these.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 20, 2024
- Stephen W5 contributionsBeautiful winery and enjoyable tourA beautiful, verdant winery with lovely grounds, a great restaurant, and an informative tour. Alessandro's, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, engaging, and spoke perfect English. She really grout the wines and pisco of Tacama to life for us. This was the highlight of our trip to Ica!Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 7, 2024
- David BGilbert, Arizona20 contributionsBest restaurant during my trip to PeruA little difficult to get to, but this restaurant is worth the trek. The papa à la Huancaina was the best that I’ve had in Peru and maybe ever. The Lomas Salado was incredible, the meat was tender, and the fries were extra crispy using papas amarillos. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the Ica areaVisited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 13, 2024

Very bad experience with the guide Carlos!! We did a tour in English with him. He didn't feel like it at all, told everything very hastily and without any passion or pleasure. I hardly understand him either because of bad speech/english. With the wine tasting we had to down four wines very quickly, we had not finished one yet and he pushed the other wine through again. It was obvious that he wanted to get it over with quickly. It's really a shame that he ruined our experience so much. Such a pity, because the estate itself is beautiful.

We stopped at Tacama during a day trip from Lima. The property is picturesque and beautifully landscaped.
It was a Sunday and was pretty crowded, but we did get a table for lunch without wait (although we ate around noon and were told that was early for lunch in Peru). Lunch was wonderful, as was the wine we had with it.
Unfortunately, after lunch we were told it would be an hour wait at least for the next tour, and we didn't have time. Our tour guide took us to another local winery for a tour & tasting. Their tour was nice, but I was disappointed with the narrow selection of wines / liquors. It's a shame that Tacama was so busy because I would rather have purchased their products.

We had a wonderful tour at Tamaca. Francisco was our guide, he spoke great English and was very knowledgeable on the history of the vineyard. Due to
our tour being in English myself and my partner were the only two on it and got to enjoy it alone which made it feel extra exclusive. Can’t say enough good things about the vineyard and our tour guide Francisco.

Excellent winery and tour, chose to do the hour long tour with 4 tastings. Excellent guide called Jorge. The restaurant outside was really excellent too and had a typical peruvian horse and dance show, excellent service, food and drinks and great waitress Kathy

We had an amazing tour and lunch at the Tacama winery! Cesar our guide gave a terrific tour and tasting, discussing the impressive history of the winery, how wine and pisco are made, and then having a fun tasting. Lunch was delicious as well in the context of a gorgeous atmosphere! Can't wait to crack open the bottles I am bringing home!!

My partner and I always loved wines and as soon as we found out that there was a vineyard and hacienda in PerĂą we could not miss it.
We opted for the Don Manuel tour, which is the most complete and includes the visit to the hacienda, the underground cellar and the production processes of their wines and pisco, as well as the tasting of 4 of their products.
We were really lucky as our guide Carlos was very kind, knowledgeable and friendly and made the whole tour even more pleasant.
Highly recommended!

We took the don manual tour with the sommelier--we were the only two doing it and it was very interesting. we have done wine tasting all over the world and this one spent extra time discussing actual aspects of the tasting. the tour of the grounds and cellars was interesting and beautiful.
However, we had lunch and were disappointed in the food and service. the tasting a+, the food c

We had a very informative tour with Caesar. His English was very good and he was very knowledgeable about the wines and processes. He took photos for us and made our visit a very memorable one.
We had a drink and nibbles before hand in their outside restaurant.
The vineyard is stunning plus there was a horse show in the afternoon but we had to leave so unfortunately didn’t get to see it.

Hi, trying to book the tasting with cave tour (Don Manuel) but the website says unavailable on all tours. Can you let me know what tours are available and dates please! Thanks!

Hi we booked it through Trip advisor, when we got there there were quite a lot of people just booking the tour there on the day . It was well organised and nice place to sit with a glass of fizz or whatever if you have to wait a little while.
Good luck

I will be in Lima and would love to make the drive to visit Tacama. Can spend a full day tasting wines at five or more other wineries in the area also? Is there a flight to and from Lima that can save time?
Written January 28, 2020
I did the Tacama winery as part of a guided tour to Nazca and Ica. I would say with the tour, lunch, and some drinking; you'd get about 2-3 hours at the location. I'm not sure about any of the area wineries in the area, but I doubt a flight in is a viable option. The best bet would be to hire a guide and let them drive you as they are tricky to get in and out of the location.
I did Nazca, Tacama, and made my flight back to the US in Lima all in the same day, but I had a 2 am flight out.
