Paracas is a holiday village popular with Peruvians. I found it to be quite run down and dirty. The beach was polluted with rubbish and people are constantly hassling you to buy a tour or a dune buggy ride. Go for one day and do the boat tour (25s plus taxes of 18s) and then the tour to the national... More

The National Reserve was absolutely beautiful! If you are into nature (or chilling at the beach) its a must! One can go with an organized tour that takes you to the nicest places or by yourself (if you have or rent a car). Nice beaches, okey places to eat with good sea food. Highly recommended! One have to pay taxes... More

Ok, the boat tour won't be possible, at least not without reasonable expense, and you have to do the boat tour to get out to see the island. However, ask who you are staying with about going into the park afterwards. We stayed - via another well known staying in someones house website - with a brilliant guy who took... More

We made a 5 hours biketrip through the park. I won't lie - it is really hard because of the wind. You dont have to be a sportsgeek but you should be fit. Nevertheless, it was totally worth it! You can also visit the park with quads, cars or a bus, but it was amazing to do it by bike!... More

It's more than just the pink flamingoes. There is some incredible wildlife - birds and sea lions. Tjhere are also some lovely top shelf resorts. Everyone we cam,e across was so passionate about the area, it was infectious.

Its very desolate and desert, but definately worth the visit. Our family collects seashells and we were able to find a bunch unlike any others we have. The roads and drving can be difficult since only one is barely marked for traveling and you kind of just have to decide for yourself whether to drive across spots or not.

The contrast between the desert and the sea is amazing and there are some great viewpoints along the tourist route. Apparently the roads inside the reserve are not actually asphalt although they look like it but made of salt that's mined locally. Guided tours have a lunchbreak at a restaurant complex, the food is highly recommended! The portions are huge... More

Lucky to arrange a private guided tour for a group of 7. There was a van taking us to see all the beautiful sights and there was no rush. We could stay and enjoy as long as we wish. The local restaurant in small fishing town offer the best sea food in very reasonable price!

During our day in the area, we booked a boat trip out to the island for wildlife viewing, but it was cancelled due to weather. We rescheduled to a bus tour of the National Park. First impression is most definitely desert as we departed the ship heading for the museum. We initially saw a promotional film, which provided some great... More
